Hi I'm Kat
I'm a cook, eater, potty trainer, blogger, reader, educator, wife, mother, doughnut loving park goer.
Why I am a Mormon
I have been a member for all of my life and because of this, I have had the opportunity to study the doctrine of this church from a very young age. I CHOOSE to be a Mormon now because I have read and studied the Book of Mormon several times in my life and I know that it is true. I have studied the history of our church and I know that Joseph Smith was an inspired man of God. I have been moved by the example of pure faith and dedication of the early pioneers of the church, as well as the examples of my grandparents and parents. Although I was raised in this church, my parents never forced me to be a part of it. They taught me what they believed to be true, they supported the programs in the church, and they quietly served. I then took what I had learned from lessons and their examples and made my own decision. I choose now to be a Mormon because I know the teachings are true, and it is a beautiful way to live this life.
How I live my faith
I work with the youngest children in the church, those that are between the ages of 18 months and 3 years old. I love it. I learn a lot from those young souls. I also participate in the women's service organization by visiting 3-4 ladies from our congregation once a month and helping them out when needed. I try everyday to have the spirit in my life by praying and reading scriptures, and then I try to be honest with those I come in contact with. I don't try to hide the fact that I have bad days and that I am not perfect, but instead I try to be open about how I use the things that I know to be true to help me overcome the challenges that life brings us, big or small. Whether it be the frustrations of potty training a stubborn little boy or the heart break of losing a baby, the gospel helps us navigate through it all.
