Hi I'm Jessica

I'm a Hoosier. I'm a stay-at-home mom. I love creating and designing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Indiana. After 10 years of moving around in Utah and Ohio for college and jobs, I'm finally back in the Hoosier state- my home. I'm been married for 10 years to my best friend and we have a spunky little girl, and a sweet little boy. Since becoming a mom, I've switched from full time work as the director of marketing for a catering company to play dates at the zoo. I love trying to be creative...from graphic design, to refinishing furniture. I love American literature, snowboarding, vintage jewelry, and collecting cookbooks. And I love being a mom!

Why I am a Mormon

I believe it. I have been extremely blessed in my life to grow up in this church. I had amazing examples of faithful followers of Christ in my parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. I grew up learning the gospel of Jesus Christ at home and at church. The gospel of Jesus Christ makes sense. It is organized. It answers the questions of life, and it is real. I remember sitting in school in 6th grade and my teacher wrote a question on the chalkboard, "Why are we here?" It was suppose to be a thought-provoking, but rhetorical question. I knew the answer. And I realized then, that I knew the answer because I was a member of this church and had the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. But I had been taught from a young age that I was a child of God with a purpose and that God has a plan for me. I have seen the blessings that come from my membership in this church. I have felt the Spirit many times, confirming that this gospel is real and true. My prayers have been answered. Being a Mormon brings me so much happiness!

How I live my faith

I love to serve others. One of my favorite way to do this is to teach children. I have had the opportunity to teach many ages of kids at church. I also love the opportunities we have as women in the Relief Society to serve in our community. From gathering school supplies for under-privileged kids, to collecting can goods for the area food pantries, to cleaning up the local parks, to cooking a meal for a family that needs extra help at the time...I know that we can grow closer to our Savior by serving our fellow man. We've recently been able to lend our hands to a local charity that makes burial gowns for premature babies. I pray for opportunities to help others around me, and to have the humility to ask for help when I need it. I try to live my faith every day, not just at church on Sundays.
