Hi I'm CaLea
I am a college student, I am recently married (to my very best friend), and I'm the middle child in a family of nine kids. I guess you could say that there's never a dull moment at our home. I was born and raised as a member of the church and I consider it the greatest blessing. I served as a missionary for eighteen months in Seoul, Korea. I can honestly say that it was the happiest time of my life! I got to dedicate all of my time, energy, and effort into helping and serving other people. I loved every second of it and I'd do it all again if I were given the opportunity. I find happiness in the simple things of life. I enjoy learning and being able to experience new adventures (which means I love trying new things). I value having good relationships with the people in my life. I believe that life is far too short to waste any time not loving the people that God puts around you. I enjoy reading, writing, blogging, creating, being outdoors, anything that involves a little competition, and using my imagination. I will always be a kid at heart. People tend to ask me what I want to be when I grow up; my answer is always the same, "When I grow up, I want to be happy." I love the gospel of Jesus Christ, and in it, I find my greatest happiness.
I know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me, and I love Him. I have a loving brother, Jesus Christ, who also loves me, and has made it possible for me to be free from the burden of my sins. I know that God knows me personally and that He truly wants me to be successful in my life. I've experienced times when I thought I wasn't strong enough to endure the hard things that have come into my life, but I can honestly say that I've made it through each of those hardships not because of my own strength, but because of the strength of my Lord. Before I really came to understand the gospel of this church, I believed that I was put on this earth to endure all the hard circumstances alone. Now I've come to know that I have the support of my Lord and Savior with me at all times and in all things, I just have to open the door and let them into my life. I know that I can make it through anything that is placed in the path of my life. I can make it through because I'm not expected to do it alone. I am a Mormon because I have come to know that I am happiest when I am living my life the way that Heavenly Father wants me to live it. I am a Mormon because each morning when I wake up to face a new day, the knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the atonement of my loving Savior is what gives me the strength to make it through each new struggle.
I believe hope is the ability to be able to look forward to the future, or to God, or to anything that you believe in and see it in a positive way. I hope for lots of laughter and happiness in my lifetime. I hope for genuine friendships and lots of love. I hope for a better tomorrow with each passing day. I hope I can become all that my Heavenly Father wants me to become. I hope for life. And I hope to enjoy life.
We go on missions because we want to share the light of the gospel with everyone who is seeking after truth. We have experienced the joy that the gospel brings into our lives and we want to share that happiness with everyone around us. When we go on missions, we are handing our lives over to the Lord so that He can mold us into the kind of people we want to be and so that we can help others to discover the blessings that the gospel brings.
I live my faith by simply remembering each day who I am and WHOSE I am. I am a daughter of a Father in Heaven who loves me very much. I am His. I represent my Savior Jesus Christ and I owe Him all that I am and all that I ever hope to be. Because I love Him, I make sure to communicate with Him every day. Through diligent prayer and scripture study, I can talk with Heavenly Father. He beckons us to come unto Him and He tells us how we can. Because I know of Him and His plan for me, I try to see life in an optimistic perspective. I strive to serve others and be a friend to those who need a friend. I wake up every morning with the attitude of wanting to improve myself through the atonement of Jesus Christ. I do the simple things because I know that through simple things, great things come to pass.
