Hi I'm Sydney
I'm a college student, smiling is my favorite, and I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am a small town girl from Northern California attending school at Brigham Young University. I am studying English literature. I love traveling the world and learning about different languages and cultures. I recently returned from serving an 18 month mission in Thailand.
Why I am a Mormon
I am Mormon because I know that the gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. Jesus is the Christ. He lives and loves. It's plain and simple. Living it every day makes me happier than I can even begin to describe! It gives me hope, and makes me a better and happier person. That is what Christ's church on the earth is today - a message of hope and gladness. It provides a path for eternal happiness with our loved ones - the kind of joy that never ends! I love that.
How I live my faith
I live my faith every day. Because I grew up in an area with so few Mormons, I stuck out because of my different beliefs and actions. I really didn't mind, though! I like being different, and I love answering questions about my religion. My favorite question that I am asked is, "Why are you so happy all the time?" I love answering that question, because there are so many different reasons, but I think the main reason is because I have built my life on the foundations of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and I know that I have a Father in Heaven and a Savior who love me personally and perfectly. Knowing that I am a child of God has changed my entire outlook on life and helps me to keep a positive perspective on everything. It is through Jesus Christ that I have become the happy person that I am today, and I am forever grateful. This is the message that I get to share with the people of Thailand every single day for a year and a half. Nothing could make me happier than helping others have a personal relationship with Christ and understanding the joy that it can bring.
