Hi I'm Sarah!

I'm a small-town girl. I married my best friend. I'm a new mama. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a young LDS wife and mother. I grew up in a small farming town and enjoyed the California sunshine, simplicity and peace of my youth. I went off to college at Brigham Young University, met my husband, and now reside in Vancouver, Washington. I graduated from BYU with a degree in Home and Family Living and followed with a Masters Degree in teaching from Washington State University. This helped me to deepen my understanding of my three great loves: faith, family and learning. I am now a full-time mom to a beautiful baby boy. Through this, I have experienced more joy and more challenge than I thought possible. I enjoy cooking healthy things for my family, running or exercising to keep my spirits high in this gray (and green!) part of the world, and learning everything I can!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert. I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints following a tragic, fatal automobile accident of a family member. Before becoming a member of the Church, I had a strong sense of spirituality. I had questions throughout my youth that were left unanswered. This event spurred my desire to have these unknowns answered. The best way I can describe my feelings as I learned about the church is that things seemed familiar. I felt at peace as I studied the Gospel and developed a testimony that it was true. I asked in faith and I was answered. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the center of my life. I once lived with a loving Heavenly Father before I came to earth. There I followed Jesus Christ and his plan for happiness throughout our mortal lives. Again, I have accepted him and tried to live his teachings here in mortality. I know that my Heavenly Father and my Savior live and love me. I know that the Book of Mormon and other scriptures are true. I know that we have living prophets on the earth today that share the desires of our Heavenly Father and Savior with us. I know that I can pray in faith and receive direction and guidance from a loving Father in heaven. I'm a Mormon because I know these things to be true.

How I live my faith

Every decision I make and each blessing I enjoy is founded in my faith. It is the root and center of who I am.
