Hi I'm Sami

I am a Psychology major aspiring to become a Social Worker, an avid reader, and I am a Mormon

About Me

I am born and raised what most people call a "Utah Mormon," and most people might call that boring. Most of my generation wishes they could get out of Utah and experience life outside of the mountains. Well for me, I couldn't think of any other place I'd rather live. That's a big reason I am attending college in Utah. The atmosphere of Utah gives me the happiness I express and try to share with those around me. I am truly grateful and truly proud to be a Utah Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I often ask this question to myself because I always doubt myself and if what I read, hear, and study is really all true. But when it comes down to it, I know beyond myself that this gospel is true. I know that the Atonement is real, and that it will save all those who are humble enough to submit themselves to repentance and follow after the example of Christ. I have experienced the peace, comfort, and reassurance of repentance in my own life: it has blessed me beyond what words can describe. I know that the Book of Mormon is truly another testament of Jesus Christ, and its lessons have brought me to a greater understanding of the gospel, of Jesus Christ, and of myself. I know that the temples built upon the earth are houses of the Lord meant for us to come closer to our Heavenly Father through the making and keeping of covenants performed in those sacred houses. I know that we are all sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father, and that He loves us beyond what any one of us can understand. And although at times I may think, "Does He really care about me if He's letting these things happen to me," I know that He does. His love, and the love of my Savior, provide me with strength when I feel like I have nothing left. I know that this is the Church of Jesus Christ, and that His gospel will continue throughout the eternities. I know that the Holy Ghost is our constant companion when we follow the ways of Christ. His presence in my life has given me the knowledge that I have of the gospel and has given me comfort when I felt it would be impossible. I know that I am very young and do not know very much, but I do know and testify of these things and most importantly that I know that these things are true.

How I live my faith

In Utah, I am also what most people call a "Molly Mormon." I try my best to show my faith through my appearance by dressing modestly and living with a modest behavior. I attend church meetings as often as I can, most of the time by myself. I read my scriptures as often as I can to uplift myself when the matters of the world seem to be weighing me down. I try to live my life so that when people see me they'll say to themselves, "She must be a Mormon."
