Hi I'm Robyn

I'm the mom of 6 busy boys. I am a baseball, football, and college basketball fan. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay-at-home mom to six boys. My husband and I are trying to teach our kids to live a healthy, active life. On Thanksgiving I ran my 4th 5K, which is a big accomplishment for me, someone who really doesn't like running! My husband has run a marathon, 2 triathlons, and is training for another marathon. I played softball while I was growing up and our family loves baseball and other sports. My college degree was in Marriage, Family, and Human Development. While I have not used it in a professional setting, it has most certainly helped me in my personal life, and I am thankful to have been able to finish my college degree. One of the best experiences I've had was a study abroad to Jerusalem. It was amazing to see where the Savior walked and taught, and to see a very different part of the world and a new culture.

Why I am a Mormon

Almost all my close and extended family are members of the LDS church, so I grew up with the gospel. But I can truly say that I have my own testimony and have been personally converted by the witness of the Holy Ghost. I have felt the peace and joy that can only come from Him, and know that this church is the church of Jesus Christ, restored to the earth again by Joseph Smith. The Gospel of Jesus Christ gives me perspective. It helps me understand why I am here, what I need to be doing while I'm doing here, why the way we live in this life is so important, and what to expect after death.

How I live my faith

My faith is the center of my life. Everything I do revolves around Jesus Christ and His gospel. I love my children because they are God's children in my stewardship. I teach them about Christ because I want them to have the happiness, peace, contentment, and perspective that I have because of my knowledge of His plan. I previously volunteered in church as a Sunday School teacher for the 12-13 year olds. They are a shining example to me of the good in the world. They know what they believe and stand up for it. I am so thankful for them! I have also worked with my husband as a leader in the in Cub Scouts. We try to combine the Scouting program and the Gospel of Jesus Christ to give the kids a solid foundation for their lives. Currently I am serving as a leader of the Relief Society, our church's organization for women. We seek to help each other grow spiritually and help those in need. It is an exhausting, exhilarating, and fulfilling work! I appreciate my kids being able to see me do things for others and learn that this life is not all about us. I also visit teach several other women on a monthly basis. They are all very different and it is great to be able to have a friendship and gospel relationship with people I might not otherwise seek out. I also appreciate the friendship afforded me by my visiting teachers. It's nice to always have someone to feel like I could call on for support.
