Hi I'm Nik

I'm a Disciple of Jesus Christ Now & Forever and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am truly blessed by the best! I have the best parents and siblings in the solar system. I am happiest when I serve others. I served as a missionary in the Florida Jacksonville Mission from 2010-2012 under the greatest man, President Barry! This experience has molded me into the man I am today. I am so grateful for those 2 years that God granted me to devote fully to Him. Life is good. I enjoy the simple things of life. I like the outdoors. I enjoy a good meal. I participate in sports and especially love the Friday night lights on the football field. However, in the mission field I soon found out that when someone puts on the baptismal whites, that experience far outweighs the Friday night lights! God is good. Blessed be the name of the Lord! Hallelujah!

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into an active family in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and baptized at age 8, I didn't always 'know' how eternally important it was to boldly be, and proudly say that "I'm a Mormon!" It wasn't until I had some obstacles to hurdle that I created the conversion that was needed. As I invested myself and had a desire to know if this message was true I received a witness that no man can give nor take away, a sure witness manifest by the power of the Holy Ghost. I have seen the gospel change my life and the lives of my beloved brothers and sisters in The South. I know that this is the Lord's living church! Jesus directs His church today through a living prophet who has been given all the authority to lead, lift and love. I see the teachings of Jesus change other people into righteous, happy children of God. I continue to follow the teachings of His gospel because it blesses my life. I am cheerful and there is joy when I strive to be the person my Heavenly Father wants me to become. Being a Mormon helps me to achieve my goal of returning to live with God again.

How I live my faith

I am trying to be like Jesus. I am following in His ways. I believe that faith is a verb and thus, to live my faith I take positive action everyday, everyday, everyday! I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. It brings joy to the soul. I live my faith as I share this gospel with others and seek to serve. I live my faith through daily fervent prayer and study of the word. I praise God as I lift where I stand.

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

The growth of this Church can be attributed to faithful members spreading our message to their friends and family, then leading those people to missionaries. Missionaries are called by the Prophet to where they serve. They have the authority to preach the gospel and fulfill the same mandate Jesus gave to His disciples of old "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:" (Matthew 28:19) Through the grace of God and acts of faith, the church continues to roll forth like the stone cut out of the mount without hands! Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

A Restoration of the Gospel was necessary and vital because of the great apostasy- apostasy is when a person or nation falls away from the teachings of Christ. The great apostasy occurred after the deaths of the Savior and His Apostles, when men corrupted the basic principles of the gospel and made unauthorized changes in Church organization and priesthood ordinances. Because of this widespread apostasy, the Lord withdrew the authority of the priesthood from the earth. Therefore not just a reformation, but a 'restoration' of the priesthood and the Gospel was necessary. The Bible is Holy Scripture that was written by prophets, and is something we've always had. However, through translation and through man's interpratation with such things as the Nicen Creed, original and basic Truths were taken out from the Bible or distorted. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Mormons do not worship Joseph Smith. Joseph Smith was called to be a Prophet- just as Moses, Noah, or Abraham was called by God to be a Prophet. We do not worship Prophets, we think highly of them and follow their words and teachings. Our worship and glory is to God and Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord! Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is an ancient record of the people here in the America's and their dealings with God. It is a strong, powerful, and true testament of Our Savior Jesus Christ. When one feels of the Spirit and divinity of the Book of Mormon and prays to know if it is true they will receive a witness from the Holy Ghost that it is. They will then come closer than ever before to Jesus, they will know that the Prophet Joseph Smith translated the Book by the power of God, and that the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Priesthood of God has been Restored to the Earth.
