Hi I'm Jon

I believe in Christ and his teachings, which lead us to true and enduring happiness.

About Me

I am a father of four children, married to a wonderful wife and work as a software developer. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in computer science and enjoy technology. I enjoy camping, hiking and spending time with my family. I enjoy riding my bike for both exercise and as a way to commute to work.

Why I am a Mormon

There is a peace and happiness that comes from following the teachings of Christ. I was raised by Mormon parents, but at the age of 16 had to decide for myself if I believed what I was being taught. Each of us eventually has to decide for ourselves what we believe. Fortunately, Heavenyly Father has given us a means to know his will through study of the scriptures, pondering what we learn, then praying to find out if it is true. This is what I did and I received confirmation that is where God wants me to be. The things I have learned and felt by participating in this Gospel have helped me to live a full and happy life. In spite of the ups and downs of life, I am content. There are challenges, but I know that this gospel helps me to find my way no matter what difficulties lie ahead of me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through opportunities to serve others. I spent a few years working with a local Boy Scout troop (which is a youth program that takes kids camping, hiking, etc). I loved helping these young men learn and grow while experiencing new and exciting things. I was able to spend time doing fun activities as well as learning more about Christ and his teachings. We all grew in many ways. I also show my faith in Christ by trying to live like he did. He taught us to be honest in our dealings with others. He taught us to serve those in need. He taught us to be pure in heart. I strive each day to live a life that he would want me to live. I look forward to meeting him someday when I return to live with Him and Heavenly Father.
