Hi I'm Jimmy

I grew up in Oregon and I am now attending a university. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student majoring in Computer Engineering. I love to play guitar and listen to music. I am from Oregon and I love everything about my home state.

Why I am a Mormon

I am one of ten children. My parents taught me to be hard working and to always give my best effort. As a young boy my parents taught me how to pray and read the scriptures. These are the tools which they gave me to gain a belief in the Lord Jesus Christ. The values that the gospel of Jesus Christ teaches help me to become a better person. I believe that my family is strong and closely knit because of these values. We have had our share of hardships but I have realized that a lot of our strength has come from our belief in the Savior and His gospel. Through prayer and scripture study I have gained a testimony that Joseph Smith was a prophet called by God. Through the Lord’s prophet, God restored His church and the authority to act in His name. I am a Mormon because I believe in these teachings. I have received a witness for myself, independent of any other person, that the Lord in reality visited the boy Joseph. I am a Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon which was translated by Joseph Smith and I believe it accompanies the Bible in being a true record of a people that knew Jesus. I am a Mormon because I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches the same doctrines that Christ taught. I am a Mormon because I believe that a living prophet guides and receives revelations for the Church of Jesus Christ and for the world. I believe that Jesus suffered and died for the sins of all mankind. I also believe that he rose from the dead, immortal, giving me the free gift of everlasting life. I believe that because of Him I will live again. I believe that through my hard work and His grace I will live with my family forever. I believe that He loves me and seeks for my lasting happiness. I believe His words when He says, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation but be of good cheer I have overcome the world.” John 1633

How I live my faith

I teach classes once a month on Sundays to men in my ward. I prepare by study and prayer so I can have the Spirit of God with me as I teach. I know that I am teaching the Lord's Gospel and I need His help in my lessons. I end up learning just as much about Jesus as the classmates I teach.
