Hi I'm Valtteri

I'm a Finn living in Sweden. I'm an aspiring composer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in southern Finland with my parents and two younger brothers. After having served a full-time mission in Canada, I'm currently situated in Stockholm, Sweden, loving life. I enjoy things like music, photography, both of which are a regular part of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

The decision to follow Christ is a not a decision to be made without great thought, consideration, and ultimately, divine assistance. I was introduced to this church by my parents and grew up living within a tight circle of friends who were latter-day saints - myself included. But as for anyone else, there came a point in my life where I had to know - not to guess, think or speculate - if all of it was really true. The commitment was demanding and were it not true, would've required serious reconsideration. I wanted to know, so I sought for the answer. I turned to the source of it all, and asked God in prayer. And just like He'd done for those asking sincerely before, He answered me. The road of discipleship is to leave neutral ground forever, perhaps the road less travelled by, but a road that has made all the difference for me.

How I live my faith

As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are a marginal minority in Finland as well as in Sweden, living the restored gospel of Jesus Christ on a daily basis raises many questions among those with whom we work, spend time and live our lives. Attending church meetings on Sundays, participating in religious education, visiting with fellow members of congregations, planning and carrying out community service activities; these are all regular aspects of my life. It's a daily commitment, a daily strength and blessing; it defines who I am and where I want to go.

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is a volume of holy scripture comparable to the Bible. It is a record of God's dealings with the ancient inhabitants of the Americas. It is the most correct of any book on earth and the keystone of our religion. The Book of Mormon is also, however, much more than that. The Book of Mormon is yet another piece of evidence of God's love for all of His children, for you and for me. It is also convincing evidence of the truthfulness of the claim made by the prophet Joseph Smith, when he said to have seen God and Jesus Christ in a grove of trees near his home. Most importantly, it is the key for any sincere individual seeking to know the truth to know for themselves that it is the word of God, that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, that Joseph Smith is His revelator and prophet, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is truly God's kingdom once again established on the earth.
