Hi I'm Russ

I grew up in Las Vegas (back when it was a nice little town). I'm a media producer. I love being a Mormon!

About Me

I work as a freelance media producer, writer, director. I've done documentaries, television specials, commercials--even a feature film that was distributed nationwide. But, by far, the most important thing to me is my family--my incredible wife of thirty-six years, our seven children, and the most adorable grandchildren on the planet! In my spare time, I love to read biographies of people who inspire me. I also love astronomy--I can't get enough of watching the night sky!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm so grateful the Lord's Church gives me answers to the big questions of life--where did I come from, why am I here, where am I going? The Church helps me understand who Jesus Christ really is and what He has done for me and all mankind. I don't know how anyone can read the four gospels in the Bible, and not be changed in some way. Jesus Christ calls us to a higher, better life. He gave His life for us so we could return to our Father in Heaven. I just want to spend my life learning all I can about Him, and trying to follow Him in everything I do. This Church gives me with the best way I know of to do that.

How I live my faith

I like going to a soup kitchen in downtown Salt Lake occasionally and helping serve meals there. I've met some incredible people from different backgrounds, religions, and cultures. We are all truly brothers and sisters.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Russ
The Book of Mormon is another witness that Jesus Christ really lived, that He was and is God's Son. It contains the writings of ancient prophets who lived in the Americas. It is named after Mormon, a prophet who compiled the book. One of my favorite parts is the account of the resurrected Savior's appearance to a group of people in ancient America. The book contains the teachings of Jesus Christ, testifying of His Atonement and His love. It supports and verifies the Bible. The Book of Mormon concludes with a great promise that those who read it and sincerely pray about it can know by the Holy Ghost that it is true (Moroni 10:4). Show more Show less
