Hi I'm Justin Gipson

I am a husband, father of six, runner, teacher and I am a Mormon!

About Me

I love to take pictures of both people and places. I love to capture the expression on people's faces. I also love to run. I have enjoyed running since high school. My wife and I met at BYU and we have 6 children; 4 biological and 2 adopted. The younger 2 have special needs. One has Autism the other Spina Bifida. Both create their own challenges and blessings. I teach seminary, that is a religious class for teenagers. I have been doing that for 17 years.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know it is true. It is that simple. Yes it is the religion of my parents. However as a youth I wanted to know for myself if the Book of Mormon was true, if Joseph Smith was God's prophet, if prophets were on the earth again. So I took the Book of Mormon challenge. I read the book and every time I did I prayed to know if it is true. One day when I was almost near the end I was reading and something was different. I had tears in my eyes. I knelt to pray and the thought I felt was "you know this is true you have always known it is true." With that thought there were feelings that are hard to explain but I just knew that God had spoke to me. Since that day I have had many other times when God has in the same or similar manner spoken to me. I know God lives. I know He loves us and cares for us. He sent His Son Jesus Christ to suffer and die that we might return to live with Him again. I know Joseph Smith is a prophet of God. He saw God the Father and Jesus Christ. He then translated the Book of Mormon. I know we have living prophets today. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is God's is true.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by doing those things I know to be true. I will be the first to share that I am not perfect. However as a disciple of Christ I believe that He wants us to live what He taught. So I try to serve others. Everyday, or at least every school day, I have the chance to teach high school youth messages from the scriptures. In our family I try to teach my children to be the best they can.
