Hi I'm Frances

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Married 29 years, mother of 3, and I love to run, cycle and workout. I am currently training for my first half marathon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was introduced to the church through the Primary Children's Program when I was 9 years old by a neighborhood friend. Primary is a remarkable program for children ages 18 months-12 years that teaches the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Daily scipture study and prayer are an essential part of my day. I attend our Sacramento Temple at least once a month, and weekly attend Sacrament Service, Sunday School and Relief Society on Sundays. Relief Society is the women's organization and our focus is on Service in our community and to each other.

How do I become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church)?

Frances
Come to any church in your community and attend Sacrament Service. The missionaries are always there and hold a special class for investigators who are interested in knowing what the church is all about. Show more Show less

They will also discuss the plan of salvation and the importance of baptism by immersion and the laying on of hands for the Gift of the Holy Ghost. They teach by the guidance and gift of the Holy Ghost so you can be assured that what they teach will be true! What is the Book of Mormon?

Frances
The Book of Mormon is another witness that Jesus Christ really lived, that He was and is God’s Son. It contains the writings of ancient prophets. One of these, Lehi, lived in Jerusalem around 600 B.C. God commanded Lehi to lead a small group of people to the American continent. There they became a great civilization. God continued to call prophets among these people. The Book of Mormon is a collection of the writings of their prophets and record keepers. It is named after Mormon, one of the last of these ancient prophets. These prophets knew about Heavenly Father’s plan for His children and the mission of Jesus Christ. They recorded that Christ appeared, after His Resurrection, to the people in America, taught them His gospel, and formed His Church among them. The book contains the teachings of Jesus Christ, testifying of His Atonement and His love. It supports and verifies the Bible. The Book of Mormon concludes with a great promise that those who read it and sincerely pray about it can know by the Holy Ghost that it is true (Moroni 10:4). Show more Show less
