Hi I'm Kirsten !

I'm your typical college student: I love to live, laugh, and learn. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

The first thing you should know about me is that I'm an eternal optimist. I'm one of those people who always have a smile on their face. That doesn't mean I don't have my fair share of bad days, I just try to maintain faith that it will all work out in the end. Right now I'm a student off at college and I love it. I'm having so much fun living on my own, meeting new people, and having new experiences each and every day.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church (something I'm so very grateful for) but I still had to decide for myself what I believe to be true. I go to church every Sunday and I live the standards I do because I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. I've come to this knowledge through study and prayer. As I have prayed to know of the truthfulness of the gospel I have received answers of peace and comfort through the Holy Spirit. This witness is so important to me: without prayer I wouldn't have the testimony that I do of my Heavenly Father, of the Savior's atonement, or of the scriptures. As I kneel and pray to my Heavenly Father I know that He loves me and is there for me. Through the gospel I know the answers to what I think are some of life's most important questions: Why am I here? Where did I come from? Where am I going? And because I understand the answers to these questions I can try to make choices that will bring me happiness now and in the future.

How I live my faith

Going to church once a week just doesn't cut it when it comes to living my faith. When you have a testimony of Christ I think it permeates everything you do. I try to live my faith through the way I treat others, by being the best student I can be, and by upholding my standards. I absolutely love how the gospel teaches me to follow Christ's example. Christ went about serving his fellow men with love and compassion. In my life I strive to do the same. I try to always be on the lookout for opportunities to serve my family, friends, and community whether that's through a kind word, a meal, or involvement various community projects. In order to live your faith, you need to know what you have faith in. I absolutely love going to church every Sunday and during the week I attend other gospel classes through the Institute program. Right now I'm really enjoying one that's focusing on the New Testament. And along with taking the time to go to church and learn with others I try to have my own personal scripture study each day. I've found as I do so I find answers to problems I might be facing that week and have my testimony of the Savior strengthened.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Kirsten !
The Book of Mormon is first and foremost another testament of the life, the ministry, and the atonement of Jesus Christ. Because God loves His children He sends prophets to teach them about Him and His commandments. Just as the Bible is a record of God's dealings with the Jews and Gentiles The Book of Mormon is a record of His dealings with His children who lived in the Ancient America's. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Kirsten !
Yes, Mormons ARE Christians ! "Mormon" is actually a nickname that's been given to members of our church because we believe in additional scripture to the Bible including The Book of Mormon. The actual name of our church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Like other Christian churches, we also believe in Jesus Christ's atonement, crucifixion, and resurrection. We teach that Christ was born of the virgin Mary and is God's only begotten son. We strive to follow His teachings and example. Show more Show less
