Hi I'm Robert

I'm a converted Southern Baptist. I know that Jesus Christ is the head of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

About Me

I'm a small business owner, a father of 6, and a grandfather of 15. My family is my life. I believe in old fashion traditional American values. I play golf when I can. I'm a Boy Scout Woodbadger, and have recently volunteered with Haven Hospice. My wife and I are currently semi-retired and love spending time with our children and grandchildren. As a successful entrepreneur my philosophy is that people are more important than anything else, and those who serve others will be rewarded with peace, happiness and joy. That philosophy has paid great dividends to our family. We are greatly blessed for it.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a Southern Baptist and converted when I was 14. I learned that the restoration of Jesus Christ's Church in these the Latter Days is real. That Jesus Christ Himself leads The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I always knew that Heavenly Father spoke to us through Prophets, now I know He does so in our day. The reading of the Book of Mormon is what testified to me that this Church is true. When I read its words and study its doctrine the Holy Spirit testifies to me that it is from God, and that it was given to us through latter day revelation. The Book of Mormon was given as physical proof to all mankind of the return of Christ's Gospel. That His Church guides us in preparation for His second coming. The Gospel of Jesus Christ taught me that righteousness and happiness go together. Through Gospel truths we can know what Jesus Christ wants us to do, and our purpose in this life. I now have the answers to life's most misunderstood questions. Why I am here? Where did I come from? And where am I going when this mortal life is over? Most of all I have learned what Heavenly Father wants me to do. And how that I may return home with Him and be with my family for time and all eternity.

How I live my faith

I currently serve Christ's Church as a member of a Bishopric, my calling is 1st Counselor. I serve with a Bishop, 2nd Counselor, Ward Clerk, Executive Secretary and myself. Together we comprise the Bishopric. I have served over the years in many callings. Christ's Church has no paid ministry so my service and that of the members administer and serve our congregations, called Wards. I have served on 3 different Public school advisory boards in my community. I have been a youth coach on several different sports with my sons and daughters. My greatest callings in life have been that of a father, grandfather, and husband. My family, the Church, and my businesses are what I live for.

What do Mormons believe happens after we die?

We know that this life is probationary. That we lived with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ before we came to this earth. Because Jesus Christ who was our Elder Brother in the pre-existance, gave his life through the atonement we will all live again. By and through Him we will have eternal life. These truths are made known to us through Prophets in the Old and New Testament, and through latter day revelation in the Book of Mormon and Doctrine and Covenants. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No, we always serve by our own free will. Young men are encouraged to serve for two years when they are young, and senior couples when they retire. This service is entirely voluntary, young men and seniors do so because of their love for the Savior and His church. Show more Show less
