Hi I'm Adam

I have a great family, a great job, a great life...I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married and we have four wonderful kids ranging in age from 17 to 10. I am in Sales Management which requires travel so my time at home is special.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family where my parents had been converted to the gospel and joined the church prior to my birth. I was raised in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and experienced everything from Nursery, Primary, Sunday School and a Mission. During that time I have studied the gospel for myself and I have had answers to my prayers for knowledge and testimony. The Church has shaped every part of my life and has strenthened me continually. I am grateful for the knowledge of Living Prophets, the Book of Mormon which testifies of Jesus Christ and works with the Holy Bible and finally the opportunity to have an Eternal Family that will continue even after this life.

How I live my faith

Currently my wife and I teach early morning Seminary. It is an opportunity for youth in High School to meet before school and discuss topics such as the Old Testament, New Testament, Book of Mormon and finally Church History. This year we are studying Church History and while we look into the lives of individuals after the restoration of the gospel in the early 1800's my testimony strengthens. As I watch teenagers with a desire to know more about our Savior Jesus Christ and choose to attend Seminary, my testimony strengthens. Acting as their Teacher is very humbling and I feel like I am learning way more then they are. I believe that the best way to live my faith is to live it in my home. We work hard to give our own kids examples of faith and devotion by our daily actions. We actively seek out opportunities to serve and attempt to be dependable in all things. The simple act of declining Alcohol at business dinners is the best way I know to demonstrate that I believe my body to be a Temple and worthy of treating correctly. Many do not understand the harm of social drink, I on the other hand recognize that our Heavenly Father wants us to keep our bodies pure and free of addictions.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Adam
I believe in the Holy Bible, and I learned that it is true and the word of God by attending church as a Mormon. While there are sincere truths found in the Bible, there is some confusion though also. You cannot walk into a Christian Bookstore without finding multiple versions of the Bible, forever going through translations and revisions. Some of the truths that are found in the Bible have been altered and some have almost disappeared. We feel that studying the Bible and the Book of Mormon we have a better understanding of what our Heavenly Father wants us to learn. Similar to the fact that you would never hang a door with only one hinge, the Book of Mormon and the Bible work together, two hinges which hold the word of God in place - free of the interpretations of Man and the desire to change the language. I cannot imagine not having the Bible as a guide, losing the examples of Christ's time in Jerusalem would leave us missing key information. But, He did not only visit the Jews. Christ told his Apostles that there were other sheep that He needed to visit and those who lived in Ancient Americas were those sheep. The Book of Mormon testifies of that visit and His teaching to them. Show more Show less
