Hi I'm Whitney

I'm a wife, mother, sister, daughter, neighbor and friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a full-time wife and mother. I have two handsome sons and the most amazing husband in the world. I love music -- singing, playing guitar and piano -- and listening to the musical talents of others. I love to write and plan parties. I love to create things with my hands and can't wait for a yard so I can garden (my potted herbs will do for now). I try to sew (emphasis on try). I love to cook, try new recipes, and entertain friends and family with my culinary "masterpieces." I graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Communications, emphasis in public relations and a minor in business management. I eat a lot of ice cream.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. Time after time, experience after experience, my knowledge of the truthfulness of this gospel is strengthened. I love being a Mormon. I love knowing that I can be with my family forever -- even after this life. I love knowing my purpose on Earth. I love knowing my Heavenly Father loves me; that I can speak to Him; that He listens, cares and answers when I pray. I love knowing that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to Earth and atoned for the sins of all so that we can repent and return to live with Him again. I love knowing about the Great Plan of Happiness -- that we are here for a purpose and God wants us to be happy. I love knowing that God knows each of us individually; that we are of infinite worth. I love knowing there is a prophet of God on Earth today; that God still speaks to His children through him, through the Holy Spirit and through prayer. I'm a Mormon, and I love it.

How I live my faith

I try to reach out to others and be a friend to everyone. I attend weekly church meetings and I am ready and willing to serve. I try to live a Christ-like life. I work to improve and strengthen my marriage. I try to teach my boys correct principles. I want them to know more than anything that God loves them, no matter what. I try to teach them to be kind to and love everyone, just as Jesus taught. I recognize my shortcomings and I'm always trying to improve. I know I'll never be perfect, but I'm doing my best and I know that through Christ and His atonement, I can be perfected.
