Hi I'm Andrea

I am a mom in California. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a full-time working mom who does my best to balance work, family, church and life in general. I love being outdoors and spending time with my family. I love watching and playing all kinds of sports.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this is my only path to living eternally with my family again. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that he loves me and knows me better than anyone. I know that Heavenly Father placed me here for a specific purpose and I am going to do everything I can to live up to that.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in everything I do. From how I dress, the music I listen to, the people I associate with to my daily activities. A big part of my live is spent serving the young women 12-18 years of age in my congregation. I love them and I try every day to serve and teach them about Jesus Christ and His restored gospel.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Andrea
Only righteous and worthy members of the church are able to enter the temples. Each of us is asked to live our lives a certain way in line with what our Savior has taught us in the scriptures and through our living prophets. Once we can declare to our local priesthood leaders that we are living our lives that way, we can receive a temple recommend. It's like our pass to enter the temple. Members of the church from the age of 12 and up have the opportunity to enter and perform sacred ordinances in the temple. These ordinances are important to the salvation of all mankind. Once a member of the church has performed or participated in the ordinances for themselves, they can then return and help others. They can help others by performing or participating in the ordinances in behalf of someone who has passed away. We know that once that ordinance has been performed under the name of the deceased, they can either accept or reject that ordinance in heaven. This allows all the sons and daughters of God to have the agency to accept or reject the blessing and ordinances that come through the gospel of Jesus Christ. These ordinances are very sacred and special to each member, therefore we refrain from speaking of them outside the temple. If you ask a member for details about the ordinances, there is some basic information that can be shared, but the sacred and special stuff we keep to ourselves and speak of only in the temple or the House of the Lord.
