Hi I'm Kalani Kaanaana

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 24 and live in Hawaii. I am a recent convert to the church and before my baptism have not lived according to the gospel. You name it I probably did it before joining the church. I have a strong testimony of the church and the Book of Mormon. Since getting my life on track I have seen the adversary try and pull me away, he has used everyone and everything to stop my baptism, from having my car stolen to work problems, you name it he's tried it. I have come to find that as I remain faithful and pray always I have seen the blessings in my life, I am so thankful to share this short testimony with you all and say these things with aloha and humility in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Why I am a Mormon

I love Jesus Christ. I was brought into the gospel by one of the kids and his family that I coached at canoe paddling. He would constantly tell me about the church and about the gospel. I would tell him things like, "yeah right, not for me" or "Me a Mormon no way!" Then I found myself talking to his dad and having dinner with the missionaries. I committed to baptism on my first lesson and felt the holy ghost there so I could know for myself the truth of what was being said. Understanding the gospel to me was so important. I had tried other churches in the past and felt good about them but they weren't solid. I asked lot's of questions with the missionaries and their answers helped me to understand more. Then I took Moroni's promise in Moroni 10: 3-5 and prayed to know if it were true. My love of Jesus Christ is now unwavering, although it may be tested often it does not break. As the world speeds by me I am comforted to know where I came from, why I am here, and where I am going! I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is simple: Aloha. That one word in Hawaiian says it all. As we become Christ like and act according to those attributes it all comes naturally. I love canoe paddling and star gazing. I love to work on my family history and learn the stories of my ancestors. I love helping others and plan going on my mission sometime next year.

What are some things that tell to you there is a God?

Kalani Kaanaana
For me growing up in Hawaii there are many obvious answers to this question. For me personally the ocean, sandy beaches, palm trees, and all the animal life confirm and testify of Heavenly Father. Also when the sun sets and the stars and moon rise I also know there is a God! Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Kalani Kaanaana
No we do not worship Joseph Smith, we know and have a testimony that he was the prophet called by God to restore the Church on Earth here for us now. Show more Show less
