Hi I'm Leah

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife, a sister, a daughter, and a mother to 5 sons, they are my pride and joy! When I'm not taking care of my family, my hobbies include going to the gym, reading, historical fiction movies, home improvement, good food, music and being with family and friends. My husband and I are celebrating our 20th anniversary this year and I just celebrated my 20th year as a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon and what began this journey? Well, 22 years ago I met a man that seemed different than anyone I had ever met before. He seemed to walk to a different drum so to speak, I was determined to find out what made him the way he was. It was because he was Mormon and lived his faith. I met with the missionaries and was asked to read the Book of Mormon and to pray about it's truthfulness, I was so very skeptical but I did and I knew without a doubt that it was indeed another testament of Jesus Christ. It was the Bible's companion, all the pieces of my previous faith that seemed to have holes in it, seemed complete, I felt whole. That man I told you about...he is now my husband.

How I live my faith

At present I am working with the children in our ward. Even at a young age children practice their faith and gain their own testimony of the gospel, it is truly amazing to witness and it's strengthens my testimony.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Leah
Simply No! My eldest son is soon to begin his mission, he has been called to Uganda for 2 years! That is not the type of calling a 19 year old takes lightly or would accept because someone else wants him too. He is making many sacrifices in order to go because he loves the Lord, wants to share the gospel and has a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. He has applied it's teachings to his life and experiences it's blessings. Show more Show less

What is faith?

Leah
Faith means-to hope for things which are not seen but which are true. Faith becomes my principle power as a Latter-Day Saint, it is more than a belief in things, it is something to do rather than than something to have. Faith is practicing what Christ has taught and believing what he has promised. Faith is a gift from God, something we are all endowed with. Miracles do not produce faith, faith produces miracles. Just as we cannot expect to gain the knowledge within a book without reading it, we cannot expect to gain spiritual knowledge without practice faith. Show more Show less
