Hi I'm Karl

I live in Washington State and plan public transportation for my city. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to solve problems and organize people to do good things. When I was in college this meant organizing games of Capture the Flag and musical productions with the young single adult ward. These days I work hard to communicate and illustrate the future of transportation, teach the gospel to my two children and the like. My wife and I enjoy exploring the Pacific Northwest and gardening. I also like to hike.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a home where the Gospel was taught regularly. I was baptized when I turned eight. I'm a Mormon not only for the feelings I had at that age and my desire then for baptism, but for the continual strength I receive when I follow the teachings of the Church and the feelings I have when search out questions related to the doctrine.

How I live my faith

I have a few responsibilities at church including serving as a counselor to the Bishop of our ward (congregation). I also have a "home teaching" route to visit a number of families regularly. In my work I deal with many challenging situations. I handle them best when I remember who I am and consider responding in a Christ-like way.

What is the priesthood?

Karl
The priesthood is the power and authority of God delegated to man.It is not a power that can be used for self-aggrandizement; rather, it is a means of serving other people the way God would serve them if he were present. it also is authority through which the necessary ordinances of the Gospel are provided to God's children, such as baptism. As God's power delegated to man, it can be used to call upon the heavens for protection from evil, healing from afflictions and sicknesses and strength to endure hardships. Show more Show less
