Hi I'm Jared

I grew up on a farm, but am a city boy who loves to travel. I have four children, am married, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 49 year-old father and husband. I'm a director for a large company that provides professional outsourcing services to other businesses around the world. I love to travel and visit new places, mainly because I enjoy learning about other people and having new experiences. My family and I like to dance too, but I'm not very good at it. Luckily they are. The most important part of my life is my faith and my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but I am still a convert to the church. I took the opportunity to find out for myself if the church is true. On my father's side, our history goes back to the Mormon Pioneers. On my mother's side, she and my grandmother were the pioneers who joined the church in Alabama. In my late teens, I realized that it was not enough for me to simply believe what my parents taught me. I made time to study and find out for myself. Because I love learning about others, I took the opportunity to learn about other religious beliefs as well as my own. I also took the most important step, I prayed to God and asked for His guidance in understanding the truth of His gospel. Because of the answer to those prayers, I have a firm belief that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the one church on the earth that contains Jesus Christ's church in its fullness. I invite all people everywhere to do as I did; learn about the church and then ask God. I don't want anyone to take my word for it. If it truly is God's church, then ask Him if it is true and He will answer.

How I live my faith

For me, my faith is not for Sunday only. It is a daily part of my life. I have worked with youth as a Scoutmaster and a teacher. I have also been a teacher of adults in church. I have also been able to volunteer my time within the community as a youth basketball coach in our city. I've also volunteered my time in various shelters and organizations providing services and supplies to the needy. I believe it's important to serve others, whether it's within the church or within the community. I also live my faith by giving my best to my employer every day and especially my family.

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

Jared
The husband and wife are to act as "one" in teaching, supporting and raising their children. They are also to support each other. Since families can be together forever, it is critical that the husband and wife work together to help ensure the family stays together and fosters love within that family unit. Show more Show less
