Hi I'm Bob Haynes

I am an IS Manager, Husband to a beautiful wife, Father of 6 amazing children, I love new adventures in life, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

At the ripe old age of 39, my lovely wife and I decided to pick up our family and move for the first time out of Norman, Oklahoma. Yes, my children and I are Sooner-born and Sooner-bred. I left my job at as a consultant to be an IS Manager for a company in Georgia. We have 6 children, one of whom is adopted. My wife Tracy has been blessed to be able to be a stay-at-home mom. Our life centers around our children--sports, music, church, scouts, and other activities (I love taking my kids shooting - Bows and arrows, and guns). Life is crazy with six kids and leads to the occasional emergency room visit both spiritual and physical. I have often wondered who the Dr. visit is for the kids or the parents or both. I love technology and learning new opportunities to helping my company and my family be more successful. My amazing wife helps manage the balance between life and getting lost in it.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother and father were tracted into by Latter-Day-Saint missionsaries when I was 2 years old. My mother invited the missionaries in thinking they were Jehovah's Witnesses. The rest is history. They joined the church in 1974. I don't remember those days. I cannot remember ever not believing in Jesus Christ. I always have believed that he is my Savior and Redeemer. I do remember when I gained a testimony of Jospeh Smith. I had been taught about our beloved Prophet many times. This time the spirit touched my heart so very strongly. As a young boy I had faith that Jospeh Smith was a prophet and led by Jesus Christ. From that time on, I would have similar experiences of the spirit touch my heart and mind teaching the truthfulness of the resurrection of the Savior and that prophets live today. Once when I was a teenager I went to a private location and prayed asking for confirmation of these truths. As I waited for an answer, a realization came to me that I already had the answer. The confirmation had come over and over again throughout my young life. At the age of 19, I went on a mission to California. This too added to my faith and belief in our Savior and that He has a plan for each of us. I learned from the scriptures, from the New Testament, the Book of Mormon, and modern revelation. What a life changing experience. I came home with faith strengthened and lives touched. I know from these many experiences and many more that Jesus Christ lives and that He leads his church through prophets today. That's why I am a Mormon today.

How I live my faith

I have been privileged to serve in many functions in the church. Recently, I was called as a Ward Mission Leader. This means that I get to help coordinate the missionary effort in our ward (congregation). I am so excited to work with people and share the gospel of Jesus Christ. I also get to work with the members of our ward. Hopefully through our efforts some will come closer to the Savior. Everything I do leads me closer to our Savior or further away. So in my mind we live our faith every day. The family being our greatest responisbility and joy.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Bob Haynes
Every Sunday Latter-Day-Saints partake of the sacred emblems of the Atonement the bread and water. Ageless symbols of his death and intercession on our behalf before God the Father. I consider his eternal teaching as taught in the Bible. Both before his condescension in the New Testament and after. That he was and is the Creator and our Savior. He walked on the earth as an example to us on how we can become like him and have his countenance shine from us. That he is the Son of God and as such was able to save me from my sins. The atonement (suffering in Gethsemane and on the cross) and the resurrection give hope to man kind. Hope that we are saved by his grace unto resurrection and to be able to stand before our maker and give an accounting of our character we developed on earth. May I through faith live such a life to be counted worthy enough to be forgiven my sins and return to live with Him. Show more Show less
