Hi I'm Rebecca Phoebe

I'm Australian. I love being with friends and family. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I grew up on the east coast of Australia and I love the beach and all things summer. I have studied at university and am currently training to become an english language teacher. During the week, I'm really busy, but I try to take time on the weekend to catch up with friends. I have travelled in Asia and the Pacific and I love discovering new places and cultures. I prefer hot climates! The snow is not for me!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the Catholic faith, of which my family are still members. I have explored many faith systems and religions but I became a Mormon because, quite simply, it is true. Never before had all my questions been answered so comprehensively! Becoming a Mormon was difficult, as it required a whole life change but I was blessed to have been introduced to the church by a beloved friend who helped me along the way. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that he was visited by God the Father and Jesus Christ in a grove of trees. I have walked where he grew up, I have been to the places where he restored the church and brought forth the Book of Mormon. I have prayed to know if the Mormon church is the Lord's true church and I can say without a doubt that it is. I also know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, just as the Bible is. Since I have changed my life to follow Jesus Christ I have not been without trials, but I have felt a peace and gained a sure knowledge that God knows me and He loves me and He wants me to fulfill my potential. My goal is to continue being a faithful member of the church, to continue following Jesus Christ and to raise a gospel-centred family.

How I live my faith

I dedicate Sundays and some weeknights to contributing to my community and my church. I love being with the youth and am involved in organising activites for them to grow and develop as children of God. I also work with the women and young adults of my church and seek to help them live their faith and grow in strength. So many people pass through difficult trials and it is so important for them to know that they are loved and valued. I have alse dedicated 18 months to serving a mission in Rochester New York where I helped many people learn more about Jesus Christ and the restoration of his true gospel. There is nothing more important to me than the Lord Jesus Christ and his teachings. I try each day to become a little more like him. Sure, sometimes I fail, but I am bouyed by his endless love for me and the sacrifice he made so I could receive mercy.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Rebecca Phoebe
You can know Mormonism is true by praying about the Book of Mormon, just as I did. If it truly is the word of God, then what Joseph Smith said was true, and the church he restored is God's true church. The answers didn't come all at once for me, and I still search and question and even need reassurance, but I can promise that if you approach the Lord in sincere prayer, He will not ignore you, nor will He refuse to answer you. He sent me a calm, sweet assurance that Mormonism is true every time I asked, and I still receive that assurance when I need it. Show more Show less
