Hi I'm Chris Rutter

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints or "Mormon" church

About Me

I am a happily married man and father of four. I love attending the many activities my family is involved in. I try and spend most of my time outside of work being involved with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have never doubted it's truthfulness. I did, however, come to a point in my life when I had to follow the teachings of the Church because I knew for myself that they were true. I would say my faith became my own when I was 18 and a freshman at college. I had gradually gained a testimony of different doctrines and principles throughout my life but I wanted to be able to "let go" of my parents "coattails". I spent most of the first semester in serious study, pondering and applying the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I had an experience listening to the President and Prophet of the Church, Ezra Taft Benson at the time, and came to know for a surety that God heard and answered my prayers through a living prophet and that President Benson was His prophet. I have never questioned the reality of the restoration through Joseph Smith and the truthfulness of Church that was restored through him. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and the Redeemer of the world. It is through faith in Him and sincere repentance that we will be able to return to our Heavenly Father and live with our families for eternity. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and another testament of Jesus Christ, along with the Bible. I know that the Lord leads His church through a living prophet and that by following the prophets counsel and teachings we will find greater joy and peace in this life and come to know the Savior better.

How I live my faith

I try to study and apply the teachings of Jesus Christ everyday. He is the ultimate example for me in everything I do and try to be. I find the most joy in life by serving others, especially my family.

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?
