Why I am a Mormon

The people I respected the most and looked up to growing up were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I saw how living the Gospel changed their lives and made them better people and I wanted the same thing for me. I studied the scriptures, attended church, and contemplated whether the teachings were right and true and if I should continue to make them a part of my life. I finally decided that the teachings I had studied and learned were right and true and that I did want them to be a part of my life so I started praying to God asking for a confirmation regarding my decision. I didn't get an immediate vision or a one time answer but was instead given small little promptings and assurances as time went on which strengthened my testimony that I had made the right decision. I continued on to later serve a mission in Japan sharing with the wonderful people of that country what I had learned and my passion for the Gospel which further strengthened my testimony in the Gospel. Everyday I live the Gospel and follow it's teachings my testimony is strengthened and I feel blessed for it. Living the Gospel makes me a better person and gives me guidance through the bad times and the good times and given the chance to do it all over again I would make the same decision with great confidence.

Personal Stories

What are you doing to help strengthen your family and make it successful?

My wife and I are strengthening our family by doing several things. We make sure that we have some time set aside each Monday to review our upcoming week, spend some time together to just have fun and get to know each other better, and to study the Gospel and share what we have learned. We also pray together at meal times and when we start and end our days. We look forward to continue doing these things when we have children as we feel that it has strengthened our relationship and brought us closer together.

How I live my faith

Currently I get to teach a group of 9-10 year olds about the Gospel and how it can make their lives better. Wife and I attend church each week on Sunday and study the Gospel through the Bible, Book of Mormon, and through the teachings of the living Prophet.
