Hi I'm Jennifer Lyn

I grew up in Connecticut, USA. I recently married my best friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the same house in the northwest corner of Connecticut since I was four years old. I was recently married to my best friend in the entire world. He is an amazing man and I'm so grateful to have him in my life. I am excited to one day become a mother and look forward to the days that I can juggle all the challenges, and joys, and experiences that being a mother will bring.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a protestant church where I was baptized and confirmed until I was fourteen years old. When my best friend in the entire world passed away, my grandmother, I became sad and confused. I spent the rest of high school and part of college looking for a church that I felt comfortable in, that had the truth that I was looking for, and that would answer the questions I had. After looking at almost every church in the area, I was invited by a very close friend to visit the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. From the moment I walked in the doors, I knew that this church was where I belonged. After a few months, I met with the missionaries and was asked to be baptized. I knew that was what I was supposed to do and I haven't looked back since. I am so thankful for the gospel that has been revealed to modern day prophets and apostles. Joseph Smith had a question of what church to join and he was given the answer when Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to him and with that brought Christ's church back to the earth. I am so grateful for the Book of Mormon. I know that Joseph Smith translated it by divine inspiration and it helps me, along with the Holy Bible, in my daily life. And, most of all for me, I'm grateful that we have modern day prophets. President Thomas S. Monson leads the church today and I am so thankful for him. He teaches us what Christ would have us know in the world today.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving in my ward as an assistant librarian. That means that I help the teachers in the congregation with any pictures, copies, or anything they need to effectively teach their lessons each week. I also am a visiting teacher, which means that I am assigned to meet with several women in the congregation and I am assigned to help them in whatever they may need, whether a phone call, a friendly visit, or a meal when they are sick. Every woman in the Church is blessed with the opportunity of being a visiting teacher and by being visit taught. It is a huge blessing to be able to serve the women in my community.
