Hi I'm Carlos

I'm from Puerto Rico raised in Florida so yes i am a floridian, i like the beach, i like cooking, and im a Mormon!

About Me

I am a college student away on my mission later To California Sacramento. I love learning, the arts and reading a really good book. I hope one day to be a good doctor more specifically, a pediatrician. I love music very much, it brings me hope and comfort and happiness all the time. I play the trumpet and the piano. I love visiting people and talking to them, listening to their stories and relating to them. I hope one day I can travel the world and help as many people as I can.

Why I am a Mormon

My family got baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints when I was little, about 7 years old. First it was my grandma and then my aunts and uncles. Later, after 11 years of passively assisting and studying the gospel, my mother decided to join. She had no doubt in her mind and in her heart that it was the right decision. As a result I got baptized as well when I was 8 years old. I grew up in the church in many parts of the world as my mother moved sometimes. It was all the same gospel being taught. As I grew up, I remember singing in primary ( classes for the children) about pop corn popping outside my window, about me planting a seed like my faith, about the prophets of old and new and about becoming a missionary one day. The church and the people in it have made me what I am today. I'm not saying that I would be in jail or in trouble if it wasn't for the church, but I know for sure that I am a better person and I am still striving to become even better. Why am I a Mormon? Because I love my family and I want to be with them for time and all eternity. Because I love the fact that I can communicate with my Heavenly Father and know that He listens to me and loves me. I am a Mormon because I love Jesus Christ and what he did for me. I appreciate what the Joseph Smith did in order to share the Book of Mormon with the world. I am a Mormon because I feel safe and happy when I follow God's commandments. I had to know at some point in my heart if the church was true. I could no longer depend on the faith of my mother. I needed that testimony and I did get it, when I was about 12 years old, I did get an answer to my prayers and from that night on I continue to strive to be what my Father in Heaven wants me to become. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I love God and I want to return to Him again one day and know that I did not waste my time on earth, that I did accomplish my mission here. I am a Mormon because I love God and He loves me.

How I live my faith

Ever since I was a little boy, I always had the desire to help out in everything that I can and as much as I can. Even though I am only 18 years old, I teach the men in church, who come from all over the world, on how we can become better people. It is a little intimidating at times since these are all great and honorable men but it is a great learning experience for me. I also have been in charge of the choir, the Boy Scout of America programs and many other things. I have always, for whatever reason the Lord wants me to, been responsible for others in many groups. This has taught me to love everyone as Christ loves me. I am also applying for a part time mission at Temple Square.I also home teach or visit a group of members assign to me every month. I have to make sure they are doing well and take care of them like they were my family. I love visiting people. I have come to understand that many times all that people need to be happy or pass through the hardships of life is a listening ear. A shoulder to lean on.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Carlos
Well, we live just like anybody else! I've lived in a lot of places in the world and the members are all the same everywhere. Even though everyone has individual personalities, we all believe in the same thing. The Arts, music, dance, patriotism, family, a healthy lifestyle, politics.education and many more things. Everything that is uplifting we do! We are participants in politics, lawyers, janitors, cashiers, athletes, ect... In the end, as long as the hobby or activity inspires to do good continually, you can probably find a member of the church there. Just Ask! Show more Show less
