Why I am a Mormon

I explored different religions throughout my childhood and young adult life. I attended services, but nothing ever felt complete. One day I met someone who introduced me to this church, one I had never heard much about. After 10 hours of talking at length she could not answer any more questions I had. She put me in contact with the missionaries who taught me all about faith in Jesus Christ, the history behind the church, their beliefs and modern revelation. I began to read and study the Book of Mormon alongside the Bible. Once I prayed for myself and asked Heavenly Father the question, I knew that this was the right church for me. I knew it was true. I knew that I could learn more through scripture study, Sunday attendance and interacting more with those who shared my newfound faith. I know that Jesus is the Christ, the atoner, our redeemer and our advocate with the father. I know that this church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, has been established and maintained by His hand. Through modern day prophets we can grow closer in this walk of faith. I testify that these things are true, and that you can find this out for yourself if you so choose.

How I live my faith

One day at a time. It is as simple as that. I do what I can to help others. I seek opportunities to help people out, including within my own family and at work. I go out and visit other members of our church, and to be a good neighbor in my community. Together with my wife, we teach our children correct morals and principles. I try to read scriptures and pray each day. I do not succeed at these things every day. Each day is an opportunity to try again. I believe that Heavenly Father wants us to learn, grow and improve. Faith in Him, along with our earnest efforts, is what will get me there.
