Hi I'm Mike

I am happily married, a father, and in the Air Force. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

My wife and I have a wonderful son! My family is The most important group and role in my life. I am an Airman in the United States Air Force. I plan to further my education and continue in the Air Force as an Officer. I served a full time two year Mission for the Church in Las Vegas, Nevada; West of I-15. I love Racquetball, Ultimate Frisbee, and enjoy reading books the kindle fires in the heart and the imagination.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a practicing member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I have lived the Principles the church teaches and found them to bring the promised blessings of living the Gospel. Jesus said in the Book of John in the New Testament chapter 7 verse 17 "If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself." A prophet from the Book of Mormon named Moroni promised "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things (Moroni 10: 4-5)." After having read the Book of Mormon, Learned and Lived the teachings, and prayed in faith, committing to act upon the answer I received, The Holy Ghost witnessed to me that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, has brought His Church back after centuries of being lost. By the means of Joseph Smith The Prophet. This is a witness I have received from God, so clear and plain, that I can not deny it.

How I live my faith

I show my faith and commitment to Jesus Christ by living according to His teachings from The Holy Scriptures, and from His servants, the Prophets. I go to church regularly and participate in The Sacrament, which is comparable to The Communion, where we eat and drink blessed bread and water in memorial of Jesus Christ and His Redeeming Sacrifice for us. I try to serve my brothers and sisters by being available when a call to serve comes. I hold Family Scripture Study to encourage and learn from my family. I pray in sincerity of heart in thanks, on behalf of others, and for guidance. I know the Gospel of Jesus Christ, as restored by the Prophet Joseph Smith, will bless the lives of all those who choose to live it. Therefore I love to invite others to learn about the Church and the Doctrines it holds sacred and dear.

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Mike
The Apostle of old, Paul, wrote in a letter to The Ephesians the necessity of Apostles. That letter is in the New Testament of the Bible. Chapter 3 verses 19 & 20 say, "Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow-citizens with the saints, and of the Household of faith; And are built upon the foundation of apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone." Chapter 4 verses 11-14 explain why: "And he (Christ) gave some, apostles... for the perfecting of the Saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ; Till we all come in the unity of the faith... That we hence be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive." The 12 Apostles are the Major Governing Body of the Church. They receive revelation on the True Doctrines and teach us. Occasionally they warn us and teach us how to prepare ourselves. In this way we have the pure teachings of Jesus Christ as the 12 Apostles receive by revelation. I invite all who read this to read and/or listen to the teachings of the Apostles. Afterwards I invite you to Pray unto God the Father in the Name of Jesus Christ and receive your own witness from the Holy Ghost as to whether these men have been called of God. I have done so, and testify that they are given to the World from Our Savior. Show more Show less
