Hi I'm Kelley

I am a mother living in the United States, raising my children to follow Christ.

About Me

I studied elementary education in college and taught middle school science before having children. Now, I stay at home and rear my children full-time. I enjoy music, photography, being outdoors and spending time with my husband and children.

Why I am a Mormon

I was not raised in a religious home, however I would discuss religion with friends and visit their worship services occasionally. While in college I visited the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with a friend. At the services I felt great peace and at home with the members. The members I met really seemed to understand what they believed and could explain it to me. I contacted the Missionaries after this meeting and continued to visit and learn about the Church. Once I gained my own testimony of the Lord's restored Church I was baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

At Church I have had many opportunities to serve. Currently, I make a weekly bulletin with announcements for my local congregation. In the past I have served as a teacher in Sunday School, a local missionary, and helped plan many different Church activities for youth and women.

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Kelley
Visitors are welcome at Sunday Church services. Before I first attended a Mormon Church service I was anxious about what to wear and what would be expected of me. Now I would tell myself, relax! Members are usually excited to welcome visitors, regardless of what clothing they wear or how unfamiliar they are with our customs. When attending Sunday Church services you should try to arrive clean and dressed in nice clothing. In America men usually wear button down collar shirts with a tie and nice slacks. Women typically wear a modest dress or skirt with a nice blouse and dressy footwear. A nice pantsuit is also acceptable for a woman to wear. Children should be dressed in nice clothing appropriate for their age and gender. Show more Show less
