Hi I'm Carl Salvatore S.

I live in the United States, and i am a Latter-day saint.

About Me

my name is Carl. i grew up in the church since i was born. i love to draw, play softball and go to the movies. I'm the youngest of 3 boys. i am starting my own lawn care business. i served a mission for the church in North Carolina and loved it!

Why I am a Mormon

growing up in the church iv only had faith that this all was true. but i never really knew it to be true. while as a missionary i was inviting some one to read and pray to know if this was true. a thought came in my head asking "have you ever prayed?" i have never prayed to know for myself. so that night i started to pray to know if this church was true, and if i was telling people the truth. i asked Heavenly Father that every night for a year until i got my answer. i was just about to be done with my mission when one night while praying i fell asleep. and in that dream i was standing at my bed praying. and the spirit over powered me and took me down to my knees. i had never felt any thing like that in my life. i knew at that moment that this was the true church of God. also i never felt while praying that this was wrong. i know that the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints is the true church of God on the earth. i only know that because i prayed to know. you can not just take the word of me, you can not just take the word of a missionary, you cant even take the word of the prophet. you have to ask God yourself and find out if this is true or not. in the "Book of Mormon" it states at the very end that after you have read these things, to "...ask if this is not true..." (Moroni 10:3). now what church in there right mind would say that? unless they are correct.

How I live my faith

in the ward "congregation" it is a young single adult (YSA) ward. were those that are 18 to 30 can attend to meet new people there own age. i am a secretary in a leadership of 4 that is over group of guys that is called the elders quorum. so as the secretary i help with planing activities, i take roll in class, and a few other things that is needed of me. part of what we do in in this quorum is some thing called home teaching. were at least 2 guys are paired up and have a list of people in the ward to go visit monthly. in doing this we teach gospel doctrine and help those people come closer to the Lord. we do teach both the men, women, and family's in the church. another calling "responsibility" i have is with in the stake. which a stake is a group of wards "congregations" in a regional area. and there are people with in the stake that make sure things run smooth with in it. in the stake i am one of the media people. which means i help set up for broad casts and yearly conferences that the church as a whole has and broad casts out to the world.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Carl Salvatore S.
no! think of it as the united states, and in the united states you have a president that leads over. we do not worship the president, but think highly of him. in the bible it says that "thou shalt not worship any other God..." we belive that to be ture. the only being that we worship is the same God that is worshiped in the bible. we do belive that Joseph Smith was called of God to bring forth Christ's church on this earth after many years of it being gone. so thats realy why we think so highly of the man Joseph Smith. What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Carl Salvatore S.
the women in the church have the same respect if not higher then the men in the church. even though the priesthood is only given to the men in the church, the women are also given leadership responsibility's. in the church we have the biggest women organization in the world. that is all lead by women.
