Hi I'm Brock

I grew up in Seattle and love the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I go to school in Idaho. I love going to school there because it's close to some great skiing hills so I go skiing every weekend during the winter. In the summer I go hiking and cycling and even made a 2 week, 1,000 mile trip from Seattle to San Francisco on my bike when I was 17.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I've learned through the scriptures and through prayer that God has a plan for each one of us. He wants us to return to live with Him again and has provided a means by which we can do that. His plan gives direction in life and gives us a way to be happy. Jesus Christ is the means by which we can return to live with God. He gave His life to pay for our many sins. I'm grateful for Christ's great sacrifice and know that by following His example and teachings we can find true joy in our lives.

How I live my faith

I am the Assistant Scoutmaster for the Boy Scout Troop we have as a part of our church. We get to do a lot of fun activities like camping, learning new skills and going to a week long summer Scout Camp each year. I also was a volunteer missionary for the church for 2 years in Guatemala. I learned how to speak spanish and taught the people of Guatemala about God's plan. I loved the country and its people and I miss it a ton.

What is being a Mormon like?

Brock
Being a Mormon is great because it brings a great sense of purpose in our lives. We strive to be the best we can be by trying to be like Christ and following his teachings. There are many commandments, or rules, that we choose to follow which help us to be more like Christ and help us to live a happy life. When we fail at keeping the commandments, which will happen each day, we repent of our sins and try harder. Show more Show less

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Brock
Faith in Jesus Christ influences all of our relationships in life for the better. When we follow Christ's example we are kinder, more understanding, more patient, and more willing to forgive. Our relationships will have less contention and less hurt because of those attributes that we strive to possess. If there is any hurt in our relationships then we will have the help of Christ as He will help heal our emotional wounds. Show more Show less
