Hi I'm Jeromy

I'm a husband and father of three, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

About me...well, I have three kids under the age of seven and a VERY patient for a wife. I've graduated from Indiana State (GO SYCAMORES!) with a degree in Information Systems and the University of Utah (RUNNIN' UTES!) with my MBA. I love my job! I currently manage a team of software testers for the LDS Church. Great people. Great projects. Let's see, what else ... I enjoy hiking, board games, and playing the drums in a neighborhood band (I also enjoy jammin' with the kids).

Why I am a Mormon

I’ve been a Mormon since age thirteen. I suppose it would be fair to say that my teenage years were typically tumultuous. In my case, my parents had divorced several years previously, which introduced much uncertainty and instability into my life. My mother then remarried … a Mormon. In the meantime, like most teenagers, I was growing more and more independently minded, depending less and less on what my parents’ believed, seeking instead to find answers for myself. This was encouraged by my parents. That is why I can say today that I am a Mormon: I know the Book of Mormon is true. The words of our Savior, Jesus Christ, found therein are true. I found this out for myself through prayer at the formative age of thirteen. That experience taught me a number of things including: 1. God, our Heavenly Father, really exists, and He hears and answers our prayers. He answered mine, even at such a young age. 2. Jesus Christ lives. The Book of Mormon is another Testament of Jesus Christ; and as such, it’s about Him and His teachings, which are specifically for us and the challenges we face in our day. 3. Joseph Smith, who translated the Book of Mormon from ancient writings, was a true and living Prophet of God, and the Church that the Lord restored through him is the same Church that He founded some two millennia ago in and around Jerusalem. So, the Book of Mormon is where it all begins for me. That is why I am a Mormon: because it’s true.

How I live my faith

My parents raised me from a pup to believe in God. I live my faith every day through personal and family prayer and scripture study. I also attend the Temple as often as I can (ideally, as babysitter-availability permits, with my wife). At church, I assist my Bishop (the leader of our congregation) with just about anything he asks me to. Sometimes, that means conducting our Sunday worship service, or Sacrament Meeting. Other times, that means assisting the youth in organization and oversight. Still other responsibilities can include organizing events for families to attend, whether they be entertaining or service-oriented. But mostly, I just try to draw closer to the Lord by living my life as clean and right before Him as I can.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Jeromy
Absolutely! One of my favorite scriptures of the Bible is John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Show more Show less
