Hi I'm Deborah Margaret

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 20 years old and lived in england up until 2 years ago when I decided to come to the USA to study Music Dance Theater. I recently got married last month and have discovered a new love for cooking! I have always loved to act, sing and dance as I have spent years training in each field. I have been involved in many shows, plays and concerts and hope to do many more in the future.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were members when I was born so you could say that I knew no different. But even those that grow up as a Mormon have to choose at some point. My parents never forced me to go to church. They only showed me how much happiness it brought to their lives and hoped it would do the same for me. As a young teenager I began to doubt whether it was worth it. It seemed that life would be much easier if I wasn't a Mormon. Instead of letting this eat away at me, I prayed and read the scriptures. It seemed like months went by until one not so special day, I received an answer that I knew could only come from my Heavenly Father. His answer was simple "you are in the right place, stay there". The fact that an all powerful, all mighty God had time for me, a young girl, meant everything to me and from that day on I went from strength to strength. I realised that it was easier to be a Mormon and that the joy that comes from living this way is second to none. I have had struggles and hardships and times of deep despair but not once has my Heavenly Father left me alone. I know that everything good in my life is from Him.

How I live my faith

I just moved into a new area with my husband so we are anxious to help the members here with whatever they need us for. In the past I have been given wonderful opportunities to serve others in many different capacities. Such as teaching the young children about the scriptures each week, leading the congregation in hymns, leading discussions in the adult classes and visiting women of all ages in their homes.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Deborah Margaret
One thing that happens inside the temple that is very sacred is families are sealed together forever. What this means is that husband and wife are not only married for this life but for all eternity and their children are included in that blessing. I am so grateful that I can be with my family forever. It just wouldn't be heaven without my family, my husband and my future children there with me. Show more Show less

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Deborah Margaret
It was written by prophets in ancient America who witnessed the hand of God in their lives. It was then compiled by Mormon, another ancient prophet, and then given to Joseph Smith hundreds of years later by Mormon's Son Moroni. Joseph Smith translated them through the power of God and thats what we have today. Show more Show less

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Deborah Margaret
We believe that the temple is the house of God. The temple is beautiful inside and out and everything that happens there is sacred and important. We believe that we should not discuss those especially sacred things with those who have not experienced the temple themselves and therefore some people think that we are keeping secrets. We do not see it in this way and invite those who are interested to learn more about the temple, keeping in mind that it is the house of God and we should respect it. Show more Show less
