Hi I'm Jordan

I'm a not so hot headed ginger who loves his family and the Gospel of Jesus Christ and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I was born in Mesa Arizona in the "winter" (yeah we dont really have winter more of a mild fall for a few months but thats what makes it fun). I spent the first five years of my life in the small mining town of Globe Arizona (where you can find some of the best mexican food in arizona by the way) while my father worked as an acountaint for one of the mines. My family moved to Gilbert Arizona when I was 6 and we've been their ever sence. I love the outdoors and being able to feel close to God through His creations. I also love water sports (ironic right?) such as swimming, wakeboarding, and rafting. I also love learning though my grades in school would sugest otherwise. I find that the more I learn about basicly anything science, history, geometry, etc... helps me feel closer to God because Hes the one that made it all. I've worked in fast food, volunteered at the Arizona Science Center and even wore a cow suit (and that thing gets HOT!). I did a year of college and I'm now serving as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I Love my parents and my two little sisters more than anything in this world. I know my father in heaven knows me personaly and I look forward to living with Him again after this life.

Why I am a Mormon

Because the church is true. Thats the bottom line. Even though my parents were mormons I still had to come to know it was true for myself. I studied the Bible and the Book of Mormon and prayed to God to know if it was true. I know it is as well as I know that the sky is blue or that my dad will break another pair of glasses. That knowlage didn't come all at once. It was just a consistant feeling that everything my partents and teachers in the church were telling me was right.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to do as the savior did. By helping those who need it (even if they dont want it sometimes). I try to be an example of the belivers in everything that I do and say and I repent of my mistakes and try to become more like my Savior Jesus Christ. Right now I'm a missionary for the church (one of those guys in a white shirt and tie) and I'm trying to help everyone I can come to know the Joy that I have in living the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

What is the First Vision?

Jordan
The first vision of Joseph Smith was when he prayed and asked God which Church was true and God the Father and His son Jesus Christ apeared to Him and told him that none of the curches on the earth at the time had the fullness of the Gospel and that through him they would Restore the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth. What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Jordan
I am a missionary right now so I know this one. First we want to get to know you and your family personaly so that we know what you care about and so you know we care about you. We teach and testify of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and our Father in Heaven. We invite everyone we talk to to come unto Christ by helping them recieve the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ which was restored to the Earth by the prophet Joseph Smith. We want to help you build your faith so you can repent of your sins and be Baptized by the priesthood authority of God and recieve the Gift of the Holy Ghost. I know this message is true and that when we live the Gospel we are happy. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

Jordan
God is our Father in Heaven and He LOVE, love, love, love, loves us. ALL of US. Hes not some intersteller space blob thing He has a body like ours its just perfect. He wants us to be happy. I know thats true because He gave me my family and the Gospel and they make me happier than anything else could. He sent His own Son to die for our sins. What more proof than that do you need that He LOVES us? I'm looking forward to being able to live in Gods presence after I die. Show more Show less

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

Jordan
Its because we belive and know the Book of Mormon, Another Testement of Jesus Christ, is a true record and use it as well as the Bible. We got the nickname because of the book but its alright we've gotten used to it. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Jordan
NO! We try to help as many people as we can. We wont turn anyone away whether they worship Christ or the flying spagetti monster (yes that is a thing). I love doing service. Helping others is one of the ways I feel close to God. In the scriptures it says for us to Love and Serve each other and thats what I try to do. Show more Show less

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

Jordan
No The only thing the Church endorses is Choosing the Right. We as mormons aren't told by our leaders who or what to vote for like sheep being led around everywhere. We're told to study the people and things being voted on and choose to vote for things and people that are in harmony with Gods Gospel. Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Jordan
Everything. Simple as that. Everything on the earth and off of it are a testemony to me that there is a God. Whenever I go hiking and I'm able to see nature and its wonders I know in my head and feel in my heart that this didn't happen by accident. There is someone out there who put this all together because thats the only way it would work. The same thing goes for when I study science. Scientific facts that we know today will be different tomorrow. Thats because God isn't giving us all of His knowlage all at once. It goes "line upon line" untill we have a perfect knowlage of things. The eternal laws of the universe that dont change are a reflection of the one who created them. A perfect being. Our God. Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Jordan
Baptism is a comandment from God. Jesus Christ himself told us in the Bilble and the Book of Mormon that we need to be Baptized to be clean before God and if Hes saying it then its got to be kinda important :) Everyone who wants to return to live with God needs to be baptized. No Exeptions. So then we have the delema of "what about people who never had the chance to accept Christ and His Gospel and be Baptized?" I'm glad you asked. We are given authority from God to do Proxy Baptism (getting baptized for someone who is dead) for those people so they can have an equal chance to be saved. Its just evidence that God is perfectly merciful and perfectly just. Hes not going to give anyone a free pass but Hes also going to give everyone an equal chance to accept and live His Gospel.
