Hi I'm Kenneth

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a military family and moved around a lot while growing up. I am married with a new baby girl. I love playing basketball, hiking, going on long walks at night, and snorkeling in Palau. I'm a computer systems analyst by trade, but my hobbies and interests are more related to the great outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because being so has made life more meaningful and full of joy. I was born into the Church, and continue to follow its teachings. It's not just a set of different religious beliefs that I think about only on Sunday...it's a way of life that brings happiness and peace.

How I live my faith

My volunteer work in the Church is Ward Mission Leader. I coordinate missionary efforts between the regular members of the Church and full-time proselyting missionaries. I go out and visit people in my neighborhood to try to share my beliefs with them. If you find something that makes you happy, you should try to share it with those around you, and that's what I am trying to do.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Kenneth
We believe that in order to obtain eternal life, one must be baptized by immersion by the proper authority. Billions of people have lived and died on this earth without having the opportunity to be baptized. We perform proxy baptisms for the dead in our temples for those who did not have the opportunity to be baptized while on the earth. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

Kenneth
We believe that after we die, our spirits still live on and will temporarily go to the spirit world. We believe that everyone that ever lived on the earth, whether they lived a good life or a bad life, will eventually be resurrected and become immortal. We will then be judged according to our works and inherit a level of glory. Show more Show less

What is a ward/stake/branch?

Kenneth
One way to think of a ward/stake/or branch is as a geographical grouping of members of the Church. In some parts of the world, where there are many Mormons, a ward may be a small geographical area, whereas in other parts of the world, a ward may be a huge area. A few hundred Mormons would make up one ward. Several wards make up a stake. A branch is similar to a ward, but much smaller. Branches are typically found in parts of the world where the Church is still new and the members are very few. Show more Show less
