Hi I'm Wendy

About Me

I am married with 4 children. I love spending time with my husband and children. My oldest son returned this year from serving a mission in Rosario, Argentina. I love doing family history work, otherwise known as genealogy. Our family enjoys camping, hiking and fishing. My brothers and sisters live on both ends of the United States, so we mostly visit by phone. My parents passed away 2 years ago, both from cancer. I would love to travel the world, and learn about all different cultures! After I retire, I plan on serving a mission with my husband!

Why I am a Mormon

Well, honestly, my ancestors joined the church in the early beginnings. When I was young, I took that for granted because it's what I grew up with. Now, I can honestly say I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints by choice. I love bearing the name of my Savior! I am grateful to my ancestors for having the moral courage to become members of this Church. Being a member has not cost me anything. Becoming members of the church did however come at a great cost to my ancestors. Words cannot express how grateful I am for their sacrifices and then remaining true to the gospel. My membership came easy because of them. And in the world we live in today, it is just as important to hold tight to the committments I made when I was 8 years old in the waters of baptism. I know that my baptism is the only way I can return to live with my Heavenly Father. I have come to know the same thing my ancestors knew, that this is the only true church. The only church to have Prophets and Apostles. I know this for myself because I asked in prayer, and I received an answer. I know for myself that this is true.

How I live my faith

Currently I teach an adult Sunday School class called Gospel Doctrine. At first I was scared of accepting this calling, but looking back now, I know my testimony has been strengthened through studing my lessons, praying for guidance, reading the scriptures, and applying what I have learned into my life. I know Heavenly Father has a plan for everybody's life, and through serving in the church, I have gained a better view of what that plan is.

What are some things that tell to you there is a God?

Oh, I love this question!!! #1...Rainbows! I feel they are a miracle that happens in nature constantly! The best ones happen in the sky, vs. the sprinkler....they invite me to look up, to see something grand, something created by the hand of God. Not everybody notices rainbows, and they only last for a brief moment, but they are amazing if we would only take the time to look, feel and remember that we do have a Father who is mindful of us, and will do even simple things to get us to remember Him.
