Hi I'm Kent

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

In agriculture everyday we see God working as plants grow and produce useful products. Planting seed and nurturing things as they grow works hand in hand with He who created this earth. As a result of this, I have a sure testimony that God lives and loves us. Being raised in a large family on a farm has put me in touch with the most basic ways of providing for our needs. It has also provided a sense of independence and self reliance in providing for myself. As I have come to learn and understand the role of the Savior, Jesus Christ, my dependence on him for both temporal and eternal things has humbled me. I love him. I thank him each day for my wife and children, and their spouses and children. So much joy and peace come to life in interacting and watching the family make progress.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to belong to the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints because it most closely matches what I have found in the scriptures and that which I feel inside concerning some very basic spiritual questions, such as: Who is God? Who is Jesus Christ? What is the purpose of this existence? How can everybody who has ever lived on earth get a shot at salvation? How does God communicate with us and we with him? So I am a Mormon because I have learned the answers to these questions. In reading both the Bible and Book of Mormon I have found a knowledge of the mission of Jesus Christ to us as Savior and Redeemer. I have a belief and testimony of ancient as well as living prophets. I also realize that I need more knowledge and support as I strive to live according to the example of the Savior. So I attend the LDS Church which I have come to feel inside is the restored Kingdom of God on the earth. This a testimony which has come through the Holy Ghost. With overwhelming humility I can declare that God has not left me to wander alone in a troubled world. He has answered my pleadings for help and answered with peace and knowledge when I have asked for it. I declare in all seriousness that I know Jesus is Christ, that a prophet lives on earth today, and that the Bible and Book of Mormon are from God.

How I live my faith

Some concepts are best learned by doing and experiencing. Knowing that this earth life is a probationary period for each of us that allows us to learn and grow, then that which we do becomes very important. Belief is revealed in action. Good works are a outgrowth of believing true principles about God and the purpose of life. God's Church and Kingdom would therefore provide plenty of opportunity to grow and learn. The LDS Church does. At each stage of growth there have been opportunities to grow and learn. Working with young people, Scouting, Single members, as a missionary, or in serving as the Dad in the family and working to nurture children. Each of these things has given me a different perspective and love for my fellowman. It is a challenge. Anything that builds will challenge us. If we never try, we will never succeed.
