Hi I'm Cameron

I go to school, I own my own company, I'm 22, my main transportation is a longboard, I love swimming, and I'm mormon.

About Me

I am Cameron! I grew up in Irvine Orange County, California, and I love it! I love to swim at the beach, spend time with my friends and family, go camping, take pictures, work on my car, ride my longboard a new found interest, and anything else that is crazy and fun! I have attended college for a year and a half to eventually become a mechanical engineer. I love building things. I stopped going to school in april 2009 and left on a mission to Toronto, Canada, and I loved it there. Some of my greatest friends and experiences are there, and Toronto is an awesome city. I am excited to continue my education and meet my end goals in my career, including working in south america and other developing countries where skills in engineering are needed. I love learning, music, and experiencing new things, and understanding, loving and helping others.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because of the potential I have as a member of this church. In addition to the service I can give in various ways. I have found here the fulness, or the complete teachings of Jesus Christ. I have found that, very simply, the Gospel of Jesus Christ can be put like this "Does it persuade one to do good, to rise, to stand tall, to do the right thing, to be kind, to be generous? If it invites us to do good, it is of God - Spirit—that which enlighteneth, that which buildeth up, that which is positive and affirmative and uplifting and leads us to better thoughts and better words and better deeds." - Gordon Hinkley. This gospel and teachings are found in the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and as I have learned, and understood this better, I have unlocked more and more of my eternal potential as a son of our Heavenly Father, where I can receive all He wants me to have - eternal happiness with my family. His desire is to bring these blessings to ALL of His children on the earth. In His wisdom and love, he established His own church with His leaders and servants to bring this to us. The blessings of being part of His work on the earth are beyond my capacity to explain, but simply it is the sweet joy of loving and serving those around me, and by doing this, making friendships that will last forever, through our Savior Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have found that following the example of Jesus Christ brings great joy in my life. By developing attributes like His, I have developed strong friendships and have been able to help others with service, or with any other need I can help with. Christ is always inviting us to "come, follow Him", which I know very strongly is true. By inviting us to follow Him, he is asking us to see what He would do and how He would spend His time. There are a lot of ways to do that, but one of the greatest is my service as a missionary and His representative. Helping others see and come to know His love by teaching them the restored Gospel is one of my greatest joys in life. It is also very rewarding to serve others, like at a food bank. "Man's greatest happiness is found in losing himself in the service of others." -Thomas Monson. We are all brothers and sisters, children of our divine, eternal Father in heaven, and I find great joy in building my friendships and relationships based on that principle.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Cameron
Of course not! It was within the last few years that I believe the church was the largest charity organization, or gave the most, in the world. We love helping people! It is impossible not to when you are becoming a disciple of our Saviour Jesus Christ! Show more Show less
