Hi I'm AnnElise

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am number 7 of 10 children. My husband is number 6. So together we sometimes have more family than we can handle. I am a mother of 5. I love to sing, read, cook and bake. I am not very crafty. I can sew, but it is a skill my mom made sure I had, more than something I enjoy. It does come in handy occasionally. I work for my city helping to plan citywide events and celebrations. I love meeting new people and working with others to put together something that brings my community together. When I was in school I was studying singing. I love to sing Opera. I am short 5'3", but I can sing very loud. People are always surprised when they hear me sing. They don't expect a voice like mine to come out of someone that is built like I am. My kids always tease me because I have recently gotten into Korean Drama's. I like them because they are clean, and I love learning about other cultures. I love learning about people. I love hearing their stories. Probably my favorite thing to do is spend time with my family. I love playing games with them or watching a show with them. I love talking to my kids as we spend time together.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to a mother that was raised in the Mormon church and to a father that joined the church in the army at the age of 18. I am a Mormon because I know it is true. I have known since the age of 12 that this is Jesus Christ's full gospel. I was writing in my journal, and the Holy Ghost testified to me that it was true. I have never questioned it again. The more I grow in the gospel the more that feeling I received at the age of 12 is reaffirmed. At the age of 16 I hit a crossroads. I was starting to have friends that did not have the same standards that I had. I looked at the lives they were living and at others that were older that had made similar choices that they were making. I looked at older siblings that had been married in the Temple and were active in the Mormon Church. I saw the difference in their lives. I saw the beauty and simplicity that came from living the gospel standards. I decided then that I was going to live the same way my siblings had. I met a wonderful man who loves the Lord as much as I do. Even though my life is not perfect, even though we have trials, we are truly blessed by our Heavenly Father. I am so happy with my life and where it is going. I know that even through trials I can turn to my Heavenly Father and my Savior and they will help me. I love the happiness that the full Gospel of Jesus Christ brings into my life.

How I live my faith

I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father and for what he has blessed me with. I live my faith the most by trying to be happy and friendly. I feel that our Heavenly father wants us to be happy. Even though life isn't always easy, we can still be happy. I am trying to teach my children about their Savior Jesus Christ and their Heavenly Father. We read scriptures together everyday, and have discussion's about the gospel of Jesus Christ. We say prayers together morning and night and at mealtimes. We meet together on Monday nights and have Family Home Evening. We teach them gospel principles, or sometimes we just have fun together. Once a month we try to have individual interviews with them. This is my two little boys favorite thing to do. They love having one on one time with mom and dad. We talk to them about their lives, school, their relationships with others, and even ask them how we are doing as parents. We help them set goals that they can work on for the next month. I am trying to help them gain their own testimony's of Jesus Christ.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

AnnElise
I can tell you what this Mormon women is like. I am stubborn, strong, happy, friendly, and loyal. I love to laugh, and I talk a lot. I grew up in the middle of 6 boys. I was my daddy's little angel. I have always loved to make others happy. My mother and father raised me and my 3 older sisters to be very independent. I like being able to take care of my families needs. I feel like if there is something that needs to be done, I can figure it out. Our garbage disposal went out a year ago, and I wouldn't let me husband help me install it. I wanted to figure it out on my own. (I even had to switch some of the pipes.) I love that I married a man that likes my independence. That he was willing to let me try to figure it out on my own, but was there waiting to help me if I needed it. I am a mother. I love my 5 kids. They bring me joy everyday. I love their triumphs, and even the sorrows that they learn from. I have a husband that is my partner in every way. We make all major decisions together. We love to hang out and just talk. He is truly my best friend. Together we are the whole. Show more Show less
