Hi I'm Dana

I'm an social media agency owner. I'm a mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I spent 18 years as a magazine writer and a mom of three boys before I found myself doing the unexpected and opening an ad agency business. I talked my husband and two seasoned professionals (graphic artist and marketing strategist) into quitting their jobs with large national companies and coming to work with me. What they didn't know was that we only had the security of one committed project that would pay our expenses and salaries for two months. But I knew that we would be successful and that the Lord would help us get more projects. That was 4 years ago and 15 employees later. We have several large national clients and are known as one of the most strategic agencies in our region. And a few months ago, we were named "One of 9 Companies Doing Facebook Right." Our social media department works with some of the biggest companies in the outdoor industry (KOA, Coleman, Cabella's) and some of our clients have products in Target and Walmart and go head-to-head against companies like Proctor and Gamble and are very successful. My three sons are 18, 11, and 8 and are some of the most amazing people I know. My relationship with them and my husband is the crowning joy of my life and the reason why I feel immense gratitude every day.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because, even though I was raised as a Mormon, I questioned many times some of the basic beliefs and tenants of the Mormon religion. And you know what? Every time I dug deep and prayed to understand what was real and true, I found out that I was standing amidst truth every day. The path of the gospel is the path I choose to live every day to the best of my ability. I have had some very difficult trials and obstacles in my life, and it is the teachings of the Mormon church and my relationship with the Lord that has got me through every dark trial of life.

How I live my faith

My business puts me right in the line of a variety of business situations that challenge my integrity and values. Sometimes this may be a client that wants us put advertising creative out there that isn't on par with our morals or it may be a situation that would benefit us but put our clients at a disadvantage. It may come from a hostile client situation that is tempting to say things in the conflict that make me right but is not necessarily taking the highest road. Each time I am presented with these situations, I never, ever have to wonder what I should do. I have lost thousands and thousands of dollars in situations just so that I knew my values, morals, and integrity would never be in question. I also live my faith every day in my office by putting our employees and their growth as a priority. Our office is filled with a love for each person, and our employees freely express love and care for each other and others. We always have people come to our agency and comment about the feeling there and the unique relationships we have with each other. The way I see it, our agency is an extension of my family, and my faith has taught me how to love my family bigger and more free.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Dana
God talks to us in our prayers but also through His words in the scriptures. I have had some of the most profound answers to my problems from reading the scriptures and having the Holy Spirit touch my heart with a message that seemed to be meant just for me. Even though the scriptures are written for everyone, their message can be as personal as a one-on-one conversation with the Lord. Show more Show less
