Hi I'm Corey

I grew up in a Mormon family. As a husband and father, my religion is more important to me than ever.

About Me

My wife and I have six precious children who keep life busy, crazy, and fun. There is never a dull moment. By day I work as a CPA, and I love the variety of people and places I get to be involved with. I love to be with my family, play racquetball, read, keep up on current events, and try to improve my meager guitar skills.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of my faith in Jesus Christ. One of the things I love most about the Church is that we are given opportunities to serve others in so many ways. Jesus Christ was a perfect example of service to others. Whether it be helping someone move, helping with a widow's yard, or simply making a visit, I love that we have opportunities to follow the Savior's example through service to others.

How I live my faith

Everything we do in the Church is designed to strengthen our faith in Jesus Christ and strengthen families. As a family, we do our best to follow the long-time counsel of Church leaders to hold weekly "Family Home Evening" which is simply time together as a family to sing, play games, read scriptures, talk about gospel topics, and have treats--the kids' favorite part! In today's hectic world, these are treasured moments that help to strengthen our family and bring us closer to Jesus Christ. Over the years, my activity in the Church has given me opportunities to learn and grow in so many ways. I've been blessed to teach Sunday School to children, help plan and conduct Sunday services, camp with the Boy Scouts, and many other choice experiences.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Corey
Mormons are ordinary people and are not unlike anyone else in most ways. We work and we play and go through many of the same challenges that everyone faces in today's world. We like to laugh and have fun and enjoy good wholesome entertainment. However, in a world that grows ever more troubling, we sometimes may seem different. Lifestyle differences between Mormons and others often arise simply from Mormons striving to live commandments from God that the world may view as outdated. I have come to know there is great security, peace, and happiness in keeping God's commandments. Show more Show less

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Corey
Happily, yes! Through obedience to God's commandments, families can be together forever. The saying that you can't take it with you surely applies to things, but not to our families. My family is so important to me and this truth gives me great hope and fills me with desire to be true to what I know is right. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Corey
We strive to follow the Savior, who served everyone around him regardless of who they were. Being involved in the missionary work in our ward local congregation, I have had many opportunities to provide service to good people of other faiths. Those opportunities have strengthened my faith and have brought me closer to the Lord. Show more Show less

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?

Corey
One of the best ways to learn more would be to reach out to someone you already know who is a Mormon. They will welcome the opportunity to answer any questions you may have--I know I would! You can also flag down any of the 50,000 plus full-time missionaries serving throughout the world. Visitors are also always welcome at any of our church buildings for Sunday services. And there are many resources available on www.mormon.org. Show more Show less
