Hi I'm Jorge Eduardo

About Me

I am married to the most amazing woman in the world and have four beautiful children whom I love dearly. I am a high school teacher. I teach Spanish and love working with the youth of my community and the church.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in Argentina. During my childhood and part of my adolescence, I faithfully attended another church, but sadly I realized that I was lacking something. I could not feel peace and love, so I decided to distant myself from this church. My mother was also looking for another church that would fill her up spiritually for she was also lacking spirituality. I was 14 years old when two wonderful full time missionaries came to our home 24 years ago. My first reaction to them coming to our home was not welcoming, but they brought to my home a sweet spirit that invaded every room therein and I could not deny it. I joined my mother in the weekly discussions she was having with them and was introduced to a book I had never heard before, even the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. I still remember when the missionaries invited me to read it and pray to my Heavenly Father to find out whether the book was true or not. That same night, I read a few chapters and felt the sweetest feeling in my heart. I then proceeded to kneel down by my bed and said the most simple and sincere prayer I had ever said. After I finished, I felt the most peaceful and calming sensation in my heart and the confirmation from on High that the Book of Mormon was indeed the word of God and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was the same church that Christ had organized when He was on the earth. It was so powerful that I could not deny it. I am a Mormon because Heavenly Father answered my prayer and I knew it was true. My testimony of the restored gospel has grown so much since that experience. I served a mission in Uruguay and am now serving Him as a bishop again. I love my Savior and Redeemer with all my heart. I am grateful for His love and forgiveness as I strive each day to be like Him.

How I live my faith

I am the bishop of our congregation in a very small town in the middle of the mountains. I love serving in this calling and the members of my ward. I love the youth as they are such special generation. I also love visiting those who need my help and support. I live my faith by loving my family with all my heart and by striving to follow our Savior's commandments. I am trying really hard "to be like Jesus," to help those that need my help and to be there for them.

Are Mormons Christians?

Jorge Eduardo
Yes, we are. We believe in Christ and prophesied of Him. He is our Savior and Redeemer. He is our brother and friend. He died for each one of us and was resurrected. I know that Jesus Christ lives and I love Him so much. I am grateful for his pure love and for his forgiveness. He is there for you and me with His extended arms ready to help us if we let Him in our heart and keep Him in our lives forever. Show more Show less
