Hi I'm Oliver N.

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am originally from Peru. After serving a LDS mission, I came to the US to study English. I stayed to earn a Bachelor's and masters degrees in Computer Science at Brigham Young University. I met my wife while going to college and got married almost four years ago. We have a 2 year old girl who keeps us busy. I am currently still attending graduate school at the in Central Florida and I am hoping to become a professor and researcher. I love computers, soccer, going to the beach and spending time with family. Family is the greatest blessing God has given us. I believe God is the source of all wisdom and knowledge. Everything we have and everything we are came from God. We owe all our successes and our lives to Him, who created us, our Savior and Redeemer.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ makes me happy and has made me realize the great love that our Father in Heaven has for us. I see the hand of the Lord in my life in every day but specially during difficult times. The gospel has changed my life completely and I feel Jesus has healed my heart and made me a better person. I will always be grateful for His atonement and His love for us.

How I live my faith

I love being a mormon because it makes me happy. However, it is not always easy. We practice the law of sacrifice and we sacrifice things for our God and to become more like Him. For instanced I sacrificed 2 years of my life as a missionary for the church in my home country in Peru. It was hard work. We had good times and hard times but my mission changed my life forever and I will be grateful to my Heavenly Father for allowing me to serve and be His representative during those 2 years. Another sacrifice I have experienced is to be a father and a husband. Sometimes I have to choose between work or spending time with my family. However, when I choose the latter, I know I am choosing the best for my family. I know my family needs more of my time than anything else I could give them. Home is a little peace of Heaven that we get to have on earth. I know one day I will be with my family forever.
