Hi I'm Jordan

I grew up in Oregon. I graduated with a bachelors degree in Statistics. I am an Entrepreneur. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy reading, fishing, and spending lot's of time with my wife and son.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a teenager I wanted to know if what my parents had taught me about Mormonism was true. They had told me that if I read the Book of Mormon then asked God if it were true he would give me an answer. He would also assure me that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is His true church in on the earth. So I put the promise to the test. Soon after I finished The Book of Mormon I prayed and asked for a confirmation that it was true. In response I felt a deep and abiding feeling that The Book of Mormon is true. The feeling was not hard to understand or describe, I felt love from God and a certainty, as if someone else was telling me in a way I knew was correct, that The Book of Mormon is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by watching out for others and sharing my beliefs with anyone who is interested. I love to talk with other people, especially about my faith. I also visit a couple of families that live nearby on a monthly basis to check up on them and see how they are doing. In this way I try to fulfill what the Savior asked of us, to love one another as He loves us.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

Jordan
Today at church we discussed who God is and how we should worship him. As I ponder who I understand God to be I think of a comment made by President Uchtdorf (an Apostle of Jesus Christ in our day). He said that God views us like toddlers. When we fall down he doesn't berate us, he kindly helps us up, and invites us to try again. Sometimes I feel discouraged, but when I look at my own son learning how to walk, and feel that love for him, I feel hope. Show more Show less
