Hi I'm David

I grew up in Boise, Idaho. Now I live and work in Astoria, Oregon. I am a Mormon!

About Me

First and foremost in my life, I am a husband and father. My wife and I have three beautiful children, and raising them to be good people is the most important thing in our life together. To work towards this goal, I became a lawyer and make a decent enough living to allow my wife to be at home with the children before they start school. Currently, I am a criminal prosecutor in the county where we live. It is a great job that brings me a lot of personal satisfaction. I do my best to make the world we live in a safer and better place. I believe my Heavenly Father is pleased with how I spend my days, and am grateful for the many blessings that he continues to give my family.

Why I am a Mormon

Well, first I would have to say my parents raised me in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. I guess you could say I was born a Mormon. However, I believe every person in this world makes decisions about their beliefs and how they chose to live their lives. In my late teens I went through a period of doubting and questioning the beliefs I had been taught. In July of 1998 (yes, I'll remember that summer forever), I got down on my knees and prayed to my Heavenly Father for over a half-hour. I asked him to let me know if what I had been taught was true. His Spirit spoke peace to my heart in a way that is nearly indiscribable. My whole being was filled with a radiating heat that I thought would burst out of my chest. After I knew He was there and that I had been taught the truth, I asked for forgiveness for my sins and mistakes. My Savior Jesus Christ forgave me, and continues to help me through my struggles today. I know Jesus Christ lives and that God answers prayers! This is His church, and I will never doubt again.

How I live my faith

I attend church on a weekly basis, serve as best I can in whatever capacity I am called and try to live as Christ would have me live. The most important way in which I live my faith is in my roles as husband and father. My family is second in priority only to God himself. I love my dear wife and beautiful children, and spend every moment of my time away from work and church with them. We have made many wonderful memories together, and I hope my children are becoming better people for having both parents actively in their lives.
