Hi I'm Michael

I am a Jewish convert.

About Me

I am a husband and father of 3 beautiful girls, and I love spending time with my family. I was born and raised in New York City (Brooklyn) and now live in Poughkeepsie NY. I am a Jewish convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I became a member of the Church in November 1991.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a non religious, traditional Jewish home. I love my Jewish heritage! I had my Bar-Mitzvah at age 13. I was told by my parents that once I had the Bar-Mitzvah, I could stop my religious education. I did. In high school, I met a friend who was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He set a good example for me to follow, unlike most others in high school. There was something different about him. I didn't understand at the time was that he had was the Holy Ghost with him and I felt good being in his company. Over the next 8 years, I asked my friend lots of questions about Jesus Christ and his religion, wanting to know more. Being a Jew, it was very hard for me to accept Jesus Christ as the Messiah. Over a period of 8 years, I became convinced, both in heart and mind, that Jesus is the Christ and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Church that contains the fulness of the Gospel of Christ. Although I alienated my family to some extent, I knew I needed to become a member of the Church. I was baptized and confirmed a member of the Church on November 17, 1991 in NY City. I have never looked back and my life has been abundantly blessed because of it.

How I live my faith

I have been serving in my congregation as Bishop since 2006. I love serving the Lord in this capacity. I have seen miracles in the lives of people that I minister to.
