Hi I'm Skye

I am a wife, a mom, a cellist, and a Spanish teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I met in college and we were married a few years ago. I graduated with a degree in Spanish teaching and a minor in music. We have a baby boy, who was born last year. More than anything, I enjoy spending time with both my son and husband.

Why I am a Mormon

I truly believe that by living the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we will be able to return to our Heavenly Father. I am a Mormon because The Church of Jesus Christ helps me to live the gospel and understand specifically what I must do to return to Him. I find peace as I read the Book of Mormon, and I know that it is the word of God. One of my favorite things about the Church of Jesus Christ is that we have a prophet here on the earth to guide us now. His guidance, combined with the Book of Mormon, Bible, and other scripture, help me to know exactly what I must do to return to my Father in Heaven and be with my family forever. This knowledge brings me so much peace and happiness. This is the main reason why I am a mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to be more like the Savior each day.

What is the difference between attending a Mormon Church and a Mormon Temple?

Skye
Church services are held every Sunday and all are welcome and encouraged to attend. The Sunday worship service is broken down into three different meetings: Sacrament Meeting, Sunday School, and either Priesthood (for men) or Relief Society (for women). There are is also a primary held at the same time for children and youth classes for teenagers. During each of these meetings, the speakers and teachers, present talks and lessons to help us come unto Christ and learn more of His teachings. The Temple is a separate building from the church building and is often what is represented as a symbol of the church. Church members are encouraged to attend the temple often to give service and to also learn more of Christ and His teachings. The temple is such a sacred and holy place that only active church members are able to enter. However, because of the immense blessings that come from temple attendance, we strongly encourage those investigating the church, to become active members so that they too can attend the temple.
